Wonder if the flash from the phone camera right in the bears eyes would have been enough to spook it...
sure he would run away and never come back :2thumbsup: btw: dont forget to kick him in the balls before hes out of reach
yeah that was what i was thinking too. but it is possible that she went into shock and passed out. and when she woke up again some time later she was in such a state of mind to be able to make a phone call. though why she called her mother to tell her what is happening is beyond any comprehension. at a time like that your survival instincts kick in, and you do everything in your power to save yourself. what you don't do is call your mom who can't help you and take your nice little time to recount the whole thing, not to mention several times. this makes this story a little doubtful, although i can't imagine what sort of a reporter would concoct up something like this just to get readers.....
This is very true. Fox News will make a story out of a booger hanging out of the president's nose, claiming its some terror device that will detonate by January 1, 2012 and everyone within a 50 mile radius of DC should hurry up and evacuate...
I wouldn't be surprised if this showed up on fox "news" tonight. I think it's Stinkfoot who calls it Faux News  Another thing they do, which is a sure sign of very high quality journalism, is they invite left-wing guests on to their program, and then yell over top of the guest who's trying to express their views, for the entire length of the interview.
This story has been stuck in my head for the last couple of days. Don't think I can think of a worse way to go, except maybe be burned alive, but even with that you usually pass out from smoke inhalation first
i don't think burning is nearly as bad as this. burning sounds awful, it's awful when you think about it, but in essence it's just some superficial pain. once the pain receptors in your skin get destroyed it shouldn't be as bad. besides when your body catches fire like that you'll soon die of heat stroke. i think death by burning is even better than freezing to death. at least burning is a relatively quick way to go. watching yourself being devoured by a wild animal however.....
She was alone against a 500+ pound bear, and probably couldn't move much. In a situation like that, what can you really do except call for help? A lot of people say they think of their families, that and maybe because most children grow up relying on their parents for protection and comfort is why she called her mom?
Wow! I feel really bad for the mom, she has to live with hearing that phone call for the rest of her life...how terrible
So horrible, I can't BEAR it!! They SHOT the fucking bears??? WHYYYYYYYYYY??? They were just being bears. God damn stupid mother fuckers, there was no need for that. Says a lot about the survival instincts of this generation! Personally, I would go for the eyes, always the best thing to do when in doubt and it would maybe put a bear off because they are very scared of getting injured. I feel sorry for the girl and everything but more sorry for the bears. Remember: Go for the eyes, not your phone. Actually, if you're a girl you could exercise your superior multi-tasking ability and do both!! Go for the eyes with a stick, your fingers, your phone or whatever.
the reason they do that is because of learned behavior. a bear who has killed a human being is much more likely to attack people again. as somebody already pointed out on this thread, bears (and most other wild animals) don't attack a person unless they feel really threatened by him. in most cases they run into humans they stay away. but a wild animal who has already killed a person knows it is stronger than us and next time it runs into people it will attack whether threatened or not. also because once it gets a taste of blood it knows we're food and next time it will attack just cause it's hungry. they do the same thing with dogs that attack people, they put them to sleep.
A death sentence, how humane. Why don't we treat people like that, I wonder, if we still treat animals like that? I still don't think they should shoot it, even if it might kill again. Maybe dumbasses will learn to be careful. Or, at least they could consider capturing the bears or something, maybe even moving them off to a zoo or a more remote location. God damn stupid humans.
