Why do YOU watch MMA?

If you do watch mixed martial arts, what do you like about it? It's pretty hard for me to watch sometimes. Especially fights where dudes are taking a ton of hard hits to the head. I start thinking about how that's probably gonna have an effect on them the rest of their lives and that I might be funding it in some way. I like grappling a lot though, as you rarely see bad injuries or a lot of pain from submissions or takedowns. I'm not really in it for the violence, but I love the strategy and athleticism. Do you guys hate it or love it and why?

 

If I wanted to watch sweaty men 69 on the floor I'd take up homosexuality.

I watch it because it's entertaining and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I personally enjoy watching a good ass whoopin every now and again

Mmmm is this the same thing as UFC? If so, Ive watched a few fights because I had a friend who met, and ultimately became obsessed with one of those guys....so I was dragged along for the ride. Personally I thought the dude looked liked an ugly lion, but I guess it's not really about that....

 

He's so fucking good dude. Eight sharp objects flying at you for 25 minutes. So scary.

 

Actually a good kick to the head is sometimes a decent feeling.. Not that I like getting my ass kicked. But there is something about a loss that builds your charterer and makes you stronger. As long you dont KEEP getting kicked in the head.

for me its kinda like sex too, being the top all the time, just get annoying.. Sometimes you wanna be a rag doll, and get tossed around a little bit..

MMA(mixed martial arts) is the name of the sport. UFC is just 1 company out of several. I prefer to watch strike force over UFC. strike force is on showtime. UFC is on pay per view and shows old fights on spike sometimes. m-1 global is also on showtime and is in a ring instead of a cage and has some real exciting knockouts sometimes. m-1 global is from russia while ufc and strikeforce are from USA.

i hope that is not a real picture from a wrestling tournament. if a guy did that to me in a wrestling match I would beat the shit out of him and if he tried to press charges for assault I would say he is not wrestling because he enjoys the sport but because he is a perverted creepy molestor and try to press charges for molestation. and I am sure everyone on the wrestling team would end up jumping that guy for doing that.

at my school a gay kid once joined our wrestling team and we made sure to slam him on his face so hard that he got bloody nose. if you join a wrestling team to touch men then you are gonna get your ass kicked.



now to answer the thread starters question. I like mma because it is very technical and takes a lot more intelligence and most people think. top level mma fighters are very smart. guys who are just agressive and strong but not smart never make it to the big promotions. I am a boxer and mma fighter myself. I will say that I enjoy boxing a lot more than mma.

also I have always found watching fight entertaining. I always enjoyed watching people get into fist fights at school. it is exciting to see who is gonna win and it gets my heart pumping just watching.

I will say that I dislike boring mma fighters who have a wrestling backround and do not know how to finish fights. if you can wrestle a guy to the ground then get good at either submission or ground and pound but please do not make us watch you pin a guy for 3 rounds. wrestlers I like are dan henderson and daniel cormier cus they beat the crap out of guys once they get them down and stay active. plus both guys still got good standing ability even though they come from olympic wrestling backrounds.

 

Rugor this isn't necessarily meant to offend but I'm sure it will. I think you're into it for exactly the wrong reasons. You seem to like the violence, and that's the part that gets you going. Everyone has a little part of them that wants to see who wins fights at school, but ideally we're able to use empathy and common sense to try to break up those fights. There was a kid in my area that got in a fight in high school and got punched in the nose in exactly the wrong way, and ended up dying because of it. I don't know if you're the type that would egg a fight on, but you definitely don't seem like the peace keeper type.

You also seem to be pretty homophobic. I don't like the idea of a gay guy touching me but hopefully it wouldn't make me want to jump him. I don't let the reptilian part of my brain control me like that. Slamming a gay kid so hard he got a bloody nose? That's messed up man. Is he allowed to join the team if his main goal is just to compete? How do you know his internal motives?

I like adrenline rushes. I used to fight kids for fun in secret spots at my school where we would not get caught. me and a few other people had our own fight club.

Also I can be a peacekeeper. it just depends what kind of fight it is. if it is some tough kid bullying some weak nerdy kid then yes I will help the nerdy kid but if it is two regular kids agreeing to fight then I will let them fight.

I like fighting cus I got warrior blood in me. as a kid I would get big wooden sticks and look for other kids who wanna have a stick fight and pretend like were middle age warriors with swords. it is a rush to put yourself in a combat situation.

I hate modern warfare though. I do not like guns. but middle age warfare with arrow and swords I find super interesting. heck If I was born back then I might have been a knight and defended my country against invaders.

I do not enjoy seeing someone get hurt though. I like fighting because it is technical like I said earlier. it takes strategy. injuries do happen but if 2 fighters are skilled and know what they are doing it is not common. all sports have injuries. football players get injured all the time and so do soccer players.


and regarding that gay kid on the wrestling team. he has that gay voice that gay walk and that flamer kind of personality. he was the WORST kid on the whole entire team skill wise. he has smelly breath. he was just really really annoying.

and the team rule is you must shower after practice with the team. but he would NEVER shower with us after practice. we think it is because he would get a boner if he was in the shower with us since he is gay.

and slams are part of wrestling. if he sucks so bad that I can pick him up and slam him on this face in the first 15seconds wrestling him then he should quit. the whole purpose of slamming him was to make him quit because this is the the sport for him and he ended up joining the swim team anyway and did not stick with wrestling.

he also got picked on when he joined the swim team. all the guys on the team thought he was joining just to check them out in their speedos. I am not sure how good he was at swimming because I never attended a swimming event or asked to much about it.

I like the athleticism. The discipline and amount of training required of the top MMA guys is incredible. Like someone said, you have to be smart, and you have to always improve and evolve.

 

i do not watch mma....it is lame and i hope soon outlawed

rugor..you got a very defensive about the kid on your wrestling team...trying to legitamize what you did by also picking on the kids breath and athletic talent...did that kid end up hanging himself because he couldnt take the constant harassment by his insensitive and criminal minded schoolmates?
