well i was an idiot how i used it in a sentence before reading this too. i definately could and should have looked it up first.

crapulance is a common afliction of enthusiasts of excess. (but that's kind of a circular thing to say, isn't it?)

the term 'merry' as in 'god rest you merry gentlmen' it is of my understanding to be of similar intent in the origeonal context of "for god sake will you drunken bastards give it a rest!".
