For years now I have thought about moving to a different state and just starting fresh, leaving family and friends behind. I have saved up a ton of money and now that I am 18 I'm starting to get serious about it. Has anyone else had similar feelings or actually done something like this.

I disappeared for 28 years from friends and family. I missed a lot,but they welcomed me back as if I been gone for a week. I wouldn't recommend being gone that long. For some of us--it's easy to pack up and punch out without ever looking back.

I did it a few years ago and it def changed my life for the better. Someone gave me some advice and I'll give it to you. Whatever little town you live in now, will still be there if you decide to come back...

Now that you are 18, have some bucks you want to have an exciting life experience. Maybe in a few years of being on your own,or sooner, you'll settle down. You are a free spirit and you are going to dance to your own drummer. I would say, have a good time, stay safe. I am older, wiser, retired and living my life as a gypsy. I have always had a free spirit and have never went along to get along. Listen to your own heart. Make memories, I had the best time of my life during the 70's
