Hi all, I attended Seattle's Hempfest yesterday (woo!) expecting to get pretty damn high. Well, I got high but not at the level I wanted to be. I'm wondering if someone can tell me if its more likely that the edibles I had were a rip off, or if my tolerance is just ridiculous? I bought a rice crispie and a brownie. I ate the rice crispie at 230pm or so and only felt moderately high, along with smoking about 5 bowls between 5 of us throughout the 3 hours we were there. So I guess I had a bowl and one edible over 3 hours. I felt pretty buzzed but I've had wayy stronger highs from just smoking. Then at 7pm I ate the entire brownie, and only felt buzzed again until about midnight. I hear so many stories about people getting really fucked up off of edibles--were mine just really weak? I smoke about a bowl daily..maybe my tolerance was too high? ahh i don't know
You do more than likley have some form of tolerance built up. I find that i like to take a 3 to 5 day tolerance break every two weeks or so. Regardless if this helps my tolerance or not im not really sure......it just feels so damn good to smoke after those couple days. The reason you hear stories of peoples ridiculous edible experiences are because of how hard it is to titrate your dose with them. some of the experiences you hear of are situations involving people eating 3 or 4 edibles because they dont feel anything right away and then an hour later realizing whats in store for them.....
Its probably a combination of tolerance and the high from edibles is a little different, you probably just werent expecting it
Thanks guys :]. I think I might have expected something different from edibles, you're right. I felt mostly a body high which makes sense now that I think about it! And Delta I like your idea of a few days break every so often. WHen I smoke after taking a break, it feels SO damn good. Being high kind of gets stale after a while if I smoke continuously.
If you bought the edibles from someone at the festival (I attended also and saw many of them for sale) it could be possible that they were made to contain little to no doses of marijuana. People often do that to increase profits.
