Animal Abuse Vs Child Abuse

hitting a domestic animal is dumb, its not the worst thing you could do morally, certainly not as morally wrong as hitting a child. hitting a self aware, and incredibly young being is so much worse than smacking a domestic animal around. your dog will attack you if you hit it too much, itll get you back. a kid would just have a dramatically worse life, trust me

If anything, this thread would be better if it was child abuse versus kitten abuse.

Not necessarily. I know of dogs that were abused but just sat there and took it. And hitting isn't the only kind of abuse a dog can take. I got my old dog when he was 4 months old. His previous owners had chained him in the basement and neglected him. The vets told me he was going to die. How would a dog fight back against that?

I'm not sure how to respond to this poll, though. My friend's dog had used as bait for dog fighting, now she's incredibly skittish and constantly fearful. How could anything be worse than that? I'm incredibly passive, but I would physically destroy anyone who would harm any other living thing child or adult, human or animal.

 

both need to be put in their place from time to time.. but when you go over the line.. its wrong either way.. kid or animal.. in the end.. we're just animals too

 

abuse is a manmade concept, so humans, due to our particular type of consciousness, suffer more psychologically as a result of it...

I can't vote for any of them. I would save my family members before my dog though if I had to choose. Humans live longer than animals so it makes more sense haha.

I would say killing someone without consent is better than torture. Sometimes even fun.

I know it's an academic argument, cause we're not going to go out punching babies and kittens to prove our points, but it's not splitting hairs necessarily.

Hurting humans is worse because human lives have more value. That's subjective of course. Objectively human lives are worthless. There are 7 billion of the mother fuckers.
