One of my dreads (the five I have that I put in months ago) is like this, and I didn't put a bead on that one :S It goes thin then suddenly goes majorly fat. I kinda like it though
That makes perfect sense. I suppose I just don't worry about dreads being tidy or perfect looking. I don't think it should cause too much of an issue right? Cause if it will break or something I may just reconsider that bead in the back. :l
I don't know if it would cause breakage or anything... I suppose if the bead is super heavy and your hair isn't strong enough, it likely could break it. That's just from an engineering standpoint. Dreads specific? No clue how that would work. I have a bead on one of mine now, because I just don't give a fuck at this point, I'm just out to see how this all shapes up this time around.
I'd just like to say, that I have kept up the neglect method I have not brushed my hair since I started this thread. My five dreads that I had put in on december of last ear are doing great and have literally locked up. One dread fell out but is dreading back up, and two dreads have formed into a congo. My hair hasn't gotten into dreads yet of course, and i've not even had to separate them, because i've only been doing neglect since August. But I have kept at it
At the moment i'm washing my hair with Simple soap and a little dab of shampoo. What else could I use?
Water. I have 2 or 3 inches of hair, but have started training my (always stubborn) scalp. No more soap for me.
I washed it with water for ages at the start but after a while my hair started to feel greasy as soon as it was dry D:
Well... I mean, it sort of is, your head makes grease and it has nowhere to go. I rinse well every day or every other day, and every now and then spend a while under the hottest water I can stand, and then a bit hotter. I always have dandruff (I think I might be a mild case of that psolorisis thing) and normally, I can get huge chunks and stuff, even after extensive washing, and must look in the mirror after showering. Now it's scaled back to fine dust, only there if I scratch hard, with no problems of showing up between showers or being visible after a shower.
You could try using baking soda, but your hair will be greasy for about a week or two till your scalp adjusts. Thats what I use and its been great
