Anxiety / adrenaline?

    Stupid question, but maybe someone can figure this out. If an adrenaline rush feels great to someone who's generally a little on the anxious side (like myself), why does an anxiety rush feel completely horrible? They're practically the same thing!

    For example: ghost hunting in some abandoned building at night = awesomely terrifying. Meeting a bunch of people I don't know for the first time = horribly scary.

    It doesn't make much sense, so maybe someone else knows the answer. Thanks for the help!

    Well in one case you're focused on a task...ghost hunting. in another you're focusing on yourself...you're inability to interact with others.

    Theres also the breathing thing, when you get anxious your breathing becomes shallow which changes the levels of co2 and o2 in your blood..this can be unpleasant.
