I was talking with someone a few months ago. He asked me the question, and said he was trying to figure it out himself, what - when it comes to religion, is believed by everyone? My addition - I don't think just because it is believed by everyone, that it's necessarily true.
When it comes to religion what is believed by everyone is that they are right. Of course everyone also believes that the others are wrong.
Thats an interesting Question. I remember speaking a muslim who said every religion believes there is a God. To which I replied that Buddhism doesn't recognize God. Though later I found out buddhism is a philosophy not a religion. I don't know what the difference is though. Taoism believes in something akin to the force which has no conscienceness which is part of what makes God, God. My Guess would be that every religion believe in a greater meaning to everyday life. They also believe in things which cannot be experienced in the "normal" perception.
For me:- Religion is a structure doctorine with rules decided by others, to obey Faith is lifestye choice, and as such the responsibilty of ones self I'll stick with Faith and the care and responsibilities that come with it = Ever the Olde Hippie Pagan I guess
"the" answer, is that truth is always there when no one is saying anything. trees are truth. rocks are truth. humans are a bit shady around the edges.
