You have to admire Stephen Gough for his sense of conviction but also question his sanity. I'm all for more clothing optional opportunities and but there are limits in today's society which can only be pushed so far.

He did get all the way from Cornwall to Scotland before getting into trouble so large parts of Britain really are very tolerant. He should know when to back down and at least keep in trousers on until he's out of town.

As long as they're not being unduely provocative and sexual or forcing people to look at them, I think people should be able to wear whatever they like. Hot women should be careful near busy roads, though. Ugly ones should be more careless near roads. I'm kidding.

It's the age old nudist saying, really: it's just a body!

and if that age old nudist walks by with his age old nudist penis swinging where my young nieces can see it...he'll wish he was in jail :)

He does make a great point about his body not being indecent. Nudity isn't for everyone including me but since he isn't harming anyone he certainly shouldn't be in jail. Let's get real, which other mammal on this planet wears clothes?

Why? Because you think of sex when you see a penis?

Quite right. They should only see familiar ones.

Ridiculous attitude. This is what corrupts young girls, not exposure to sex and nudity. The idea that they are pure, hiding them from what's real and keeping them in a fantasy world is what turns them into sluts later on.

Nudity is like drugs, it's not for everyone but it doesn't hurt anyone if someones into it. The truth is being nude in most circumstances is inconvenient. Putting someone in jail who hasn't hurt anyone is very authouritarian.

The law is "breaching the peace" - I'm allowed to wear a shirt that says "fuck you" or "fuck all muslims", or a metal shirt showing someone stabbing or raping someone, but showing my natural state which I was born with? Nah, that's not peaceful.

They are not showing your nieces their dicks, your nieces just happen to see it. There is a school of thought that says it would do your nieces a lot of good. Certainly, some would say that it is the attraction of the taboo and mystery of other people's sex parts that wind up in promiscuity. I think adults don't want children to see that kind of stuff because the adult thinks it will make the children think sexually graphic thoughts, this won't actually happen. Another reason they detest this exposure is because they might have to answer some questions that they feel are difficult. As embarassing as it is for the adult, the child can only benefit from being informed in whatever the subject is; the sooner they are able to face reality, the sooner they will become accustomed to it. Would you rather your nieces grew up to be ashamed of their bodies but allured by the mystery of cock?

Example: The dutch education system handles sex and relationships in its teachings in relative detail and openness. The Dutch have a very low rate of teenage pregnancy and sexual disease. The British system includes sex a bit later on but not a lot. The British have the highest rates of teenage pregnancy and sexual disease in Europe, nearly topping the world. Good thing the USA is there to make us look good.

All of life is potential for education, a chance to expand awareness and in doing so create a better place for free expression. I don't understand why people don't want young people to have these chances.
