we use those cables to carry electronic signals from one home to another home so that we can talk to each other on something called telephones...

Thanks Midgardsun; about that video: a similar thing happened to me in April. I got a HUGE bill for heating, and my mates and I couldn't understand where it came from. No one read the counters and... We ended up paying it...
