Check out this awesome book I just found and started reading haha. Seems like an excellent source, however there seem to be slight mistakes. I'm thinking about buying the hard copy to make notes on. http://psychedelic-information-theory.com/ebook/index.htm
I am actually reading this, and if it were not for the fact that it is the first time in a year that I have drank alcohol, combined with a HEFTY dose of Dextroamphetamine, I would likely have skipped this topic. Thanks for the food for thought.
After reading a good portion of it, I can conclude that the author makes some VERY dangerous conclusions based on the basic pharmacological data of psychedelics, namely the 5-HT2A agonism. His first conclusions are sound- that of the dis-inhibition of glutamatergic firing in the pyramidal cells, but then he hypothesizes a little too far about the implications of such dis-inhibition. Either way, his conclusions very well COULD be correct. I encourage any research into the subject, and I am glad the author wrote this. It is great food for thought. And best off, it really delves into the reasons WHY we hallucinate and have our senses altered when we take a 5-HT2A/2C agonist in ADDITION to the emotional overflow we experience. I actually am planning a psychedelic journey for around 4:00 pm tomorrow simply based on reading this. It really has me interested. I will make any mental notes I can of the nature of the visual disturbances. This has been one crazy day: Going from being out of Dextroamphetamine to getting it filled, taking quite a lot, then having three beers for the first time in a year, which has sent me into this very odd mental state.
