    Is there any way this can work? I have tried to ignore my drives and dig chicks but it just ain't happenin lol. Is there a way I can manage this or do I just have to get better? I've had pastor's who've told me I just need to get over it but it is not always that easy, like I can't control who I love. What do other christians think?

    God made you yes? And god is infinite in his wisdom yes? Then one should believe that god knew what he was doing when he made u and made you gay to not act on your impulses is to insult god. Go for it little lamb go forth and gay just stay safe and all will be good. Some people just don't get it because they haven't experienced it for themselves they don't get that its not a choice and that u were born to have these feelings. To love a man is a beautiful thing and god loves u for bringing such beauty into the world. Never forget that you are gods child.

    What percentage of Christians do you think observe the rules like no sex before marriage, or no pork and shellfish?

    Your relationship with God is a personal one, if you love God then you have to love God absolutely and it is your God not the one in the Bible which is just a book to give you an idea about what God means

    I'm not a Christian but I did have a Christian education and what I got from it was that we are a tiny part of something far too big for us to understand. I think that the teachings of the Bible regarding sex are more against fornication than any particular kind of fornication.

    And if we truly are God's children and he loves everything about us, then that means that God LOVES the cock, and if Jesus is everywhere he's in the toilet in every gay bar all the time

    My mothers church has taught me that all people are sinners. I'm not saying that being gay is a sin, though I believe many will say it is. Honestly, I'm not sure what the Bible has to say about it even...but if you accept Jesus as your Savior, I believe you can be gay and be a Christian.

    Remember Jesus is your Savior, not your religion. And while people may judge you, God will have the final judgement.

    But if you take the Bible literally then it's pretty much impossible to be a Christian and live in the modern world. Someone can still be a Christian and not follow all of the rules in the Bible, it is the overall message of love and understanding that defines christianity, not the modern translations

    Blah Blah Blah. Same old Levidicus argument. Look at Mark 7:19 http://bible.cc/mark/7-19.htm

    Also, I am willing to bet a lot of Christians remain virgins until marriage.

    you're very correct. that is my opinion. I'd have to go do some reading first before I can give a yes or a no that is based on the Bible. But we all sin; steal, sex, lie, impure thoughts...If God forgives those who love and accept Jesus why would it be different to be gay??

    This is my thought process. I have a lot of learning still to do, which I'm very aware of.

    Well living a life directly opposed to the gospel would preculde oneself from being a Christian. Sure we can call ourselves whatever we want, but being happy about same-sex intercourse is a separate issue from orientaiton.

    For a balanced approach to this topic (of which I can only have limited views due to my orientation) check out: http://littlecatholicbubble.blogspot.com/2011/07/gay-catholic-and-doing-fine.html

    I don't think that Christianity is meant to be about the English or even Roman translations of the books.

    I was just using that to illustrate a point, the version of the Bible that we read is a bit like the film of the book of the event. Even the original book was people writing down conversations they had.

    Taking the modern translations of the Bible literally is more blashphemous than ignoring it altogether

    C'mon man--grow a pair and live your life the way you want. Quit worrying about people who think they have all the answers. It's your life-don't let anyone put guilt trips on you. I think you will find that you will be much happier and able to live successfully if you get away from such judgemental know-it-alls. If you want to be a christian--be one and go direct in your relationship with your god, like many who are fed up with being judged and made to feel as if they are beneath others. Do it.

    Can one be a sinner and be Christian?

    Whosoever will may come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. -- Rev. 22:17b.

    Are we still bound by the laws of the Old Testament?

    Rom. 6:14-15 “For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.”

    Gal 2:16 "knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.”

    So what can we say to these folks quoting the law from the Bible about specific sins such as homosexuality?

    9What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. 10As it is written:

    “There is no one righteous, not even one;

    11there is no one who understands,

    no one who seeks God.

    12All have turned away,

    they have together become worthless;

    there is no one who does good,

    not even one.”c

    13“Their throats are open graves;

    their tongues practice deceit.”d

    “The poison of vipers is on their lips.”e

    14“Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”f

    15“Their feet are swift to shed blood;

    16ruin and misery mark their ways,

    17and the way of peace they do not know.”g

    18“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”h

    19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
