What's up with this thug style? I woulda thought it woulda died a natural death by now, yet i still see stupid peeps holding their pants up. Is it supposed to be cool showing your underwear?

I watch these stupid cop reality show and find it so ridiculous when these thugs try to outrun the cops while holding their pants up. They usually end up tripping over their own pants when they lose their grip. How stupid can they get?

I've wondered about it lasting too. It seems to me that if you wanted to impress people with how well you were doing you would wear nice clothes instead of looking like you were wearing hand-me-downs from your gigantic older brother.

I read an interesting article on the above ^ style of dress, and it supposedly came from the prison population. It was a signal to other inmates that you were "OPEN" and available for anal sex!......Strange world we live in....:-D

Lol very much! That's very interesting. I'll have to remember that if I ever get arrested, could come in useful. So does this mean that people with low beltlines only want to be loved?

To me, this is no different from high heels, excessive piercings, a lot of jewelry, hairstyles with hair covering the eyes etc. There's no good reason to hinder your movements, dexterity or perception for the sake of fashion! Crazy people!

Fashion? Bloody fashion... It is the modern days hidden religion, with nothing churchlike about it except the heirarchy and worship. Overall it has had a profound effect on society in many different ways. Aside from the contribution to greater financial inequality and wasting of resources, I read once that fashion changed the image of beauty in the minds of people. The question was "What happened to curvy women?" The answer was that the androgynous image on the catwalks destroyed them, but why weren't there "real" women still on the scene? The article explained that the "elite" of the fashion industry are almost completely made up of homosexual men. Their idea of beauty is obviously masculine, so they would pick "beautiful" models according to what they termed beautiful. So out went the curves, in came the skinny hipped, big jawed ladies.

    lol @ fashion.

So they should just "no-homo" themselves too. With a big sign. If you hang around younger kids you probably know about the "no-homo" phobia.

And pants sagging, it's just another form of expression. Sounds cheesy, but they will do what they want to do. It's more in the rap scene to signify "big pockets" though, I am assuming. Or that they have something tucked. What the fuck ever, someday we will be wearing ass-less chaps, then you can complain about the horrific sights.

As far as what i know it did come from the prison world but has nothing to do with anal sex. Honestly who ever wrote that article is most likely a racist moron.

In the early 80's i believe it was prison guards didn't give belts to any of the black inmates. All the black inmates were walking around holding their pants up and soon the term saggin came into the picture. Saggin the pants. If you take the word saggin and flip it around it says niggas.

This was also around the time when the music industry was taking off with Run DMC and others who had messages about prison life. Others later came into the picture, 2Pac, Biggie, Dre, Ice Cube and many many more. Decade or more later when the music industry turned into a fashion show and not a music show the whole style really boomed and most don't know what they truly support by wearing that 'style'. It all comes down to ignorance and the assholes who run the music industry.

I've seen a lot of suburban white boys who say some pretty ignorant shit towards blacks most of which is racist but they too sag their pants, not knowing they are supporting the very race in which they are talking trash about.

What cracks me up is that the pants on young men are either too big and low or to high and tight. There is no happy medium with pants on guys these days

you really think those kids don't know that sagging pants is a black thing?

i don't know if that article is true or not, but it's not like it's one single opinion; that's the story i've been hearing about the origin of the sag for basically as long as the sag has existed.

No, but some don't know where it originated from and i've personally heard racists remarks from those who are supporting the very ethnic group in which they are talking shit towards. Not all, but their are those who do.

Some kids i think sag their pants because its 'whats in'

When I lose my belt (happens way too often), I'll use a piece of wire, a clip, some rope, whatever it takes to make sure my pants don't fall down...

You want to cure someone of the habit of 'saggin' send them up here during mosquito season with the goats around... they will quickly learn that they do not have enough hands to hold their pants up lol
