UPDATE 9/3: Wikileaks today published all 250,000 cables unredacted! In the past few days, Wikileaks has released another 134,000 U.S. diplomatic cables on it's website, six times more cables than it has released publicly before. Meanwhile, the US has unsealed the Grand Jury order for information on Wikileaks from its US hosting company, Dynadot. The Grand Jury is seeking to charge Wikileaks with espionage for releasing the diplomatic cables that were allegedly passed on to Wikileaks by Bradley Manning who is still in custody. What is very interesting to note is exactly which information was requested, just about everything a hosting company might have on a client. http://wikileaks.org/US-espionage-investigation-against.html
What do they hope to achieve by doing this? It is good that some journalists are still keeping this story alive.
I'm waiting for them to release the Bank of America stuff they promised to release months ago. Perhaps with the complete release of the Embassy cables, they can now focus on other leaks...
i think that the stuff is being released about western governments shows that the governments aren't powerful enough to stop it but the banks would just kill them things like major banks, chinese politburo, russian oligarchs are still immune from wikileaks.
Might be difficult to find whistle blowers for some of them criminal organisations, the potential risks to their security are far more serious. If anyone blew the whistle on the chinese or the russians they would surely get the death penalty if they were caught, and might even be tortured.
Major banks are being taken down by our own government. The FHFA is trying to take legal action against banks that wrongly rated loans.
That group have offered a few 'sacrifices' to the government but generally they are still in the same position that they were in before the financial crash. I bet that noone goes to prison or ends up poor over the blatant theft
Wow, that's quite a list of demands. Basically "TELL US WHO YOU ARE". So just how much don't the governments know about Wikileaks? They're aiming to stamp this out and make an example of them, I would think. If they get the information they desire then no doubt a string of international arrests and several cases of espionage or such will arise. What hope is there for the position of wikileaks in the legal system? Can they hope to defend themselves in any way?
Not just what they have on the client... Anyone who so much as just surfed to the site, just to look...
Now expand this beyond just wikileaks and apply it to yourself. The conclusion is easy one. You're a stupid idiot if you continue to use not only Facebook and Twitter but any United States based Internet services. Don't give out private and personal information. If you are asked then lie. Learn to use proxies. Yes they slow things down but you are more safe Learn to use throw away email account.
