Actually the Bible is pretty plain in what it says on the subject, it is you that likes to take it out of historical-cultural context, trying to make it say what it doesn't.
That is exactly my point. There is no universal truth. Some people may believe the same thing to be true but that doesn't make it universal.
This is why Christians wind people up You don't have any better idea than anybody else what is or isn't true. As far as I'm aware Christians don't actually have any special knowledge about humanity that noone else does, what distinguishes you from non-Christians is that you believe an old book with lots of fantastical stories and often bizarre rules in. A belief which incidentally tends to decline in popularity inversely to the rise in education and literacy in societies all over the world This would seem to belie an incredible arrogance and/or stupidity to claim to know some universal truths, it seems to indicate an elevated level of credulity more than anything else I'd never have the arrogance to say that I knew something was true that noone else did. There are a lot of things that I know will happen that I don't say because people don't actually change their ideas just because someone says so Many Christians on the other hand often seem to think that you know truths and we should believe you based on this jumble of truisms, allegories and ridiculous claims
Let me tell you what is incredible arrogance and/or stupidity, you getting into the middle of a discussion that you have no idea what is being talked about. Might I suggest that it is a universal truth that getting into a discussion that you have no idea what the topic is will end up making you look like a fool.
That isn't a universal truth though you pillock You might get into the middle of a discussion and accidentally say the right thing and end up looking wise You may do so inadvertently like in the story 'Being There' You might also walk into a discussion between a bunch of fellow Christians and say something out of the bible and make them all go 'wooooo' since they are also incapable of thinking above an 8 year old level In short it isn't a universal truth, if you don't understand what words say you shouldn't use them godboy
You are the one who is showing arrogance and stupidity by claiming to know some universal truths That was what I said
Before you look any more foolish, perhaps you would be so good as to Quote for me what I consider to be a "universal truth".
not really i just got angry because you said you knew a universal truth which would be just as untrue whether you were talking about sexuality or anything
