Where I live you can go to the county courthouse.

Other options exist for getting it priced based on your income.

You could try planned parenthood, but if you're in desperate need of a contraceptive I'd just use condoms cuz the pill takes a month to become fully effective..

Speaking from experience, you will find that most say 7-28 days but recommend a full cycle, and depending on how your body reacts to the hormones it could be less and could be more all depending on when you get your first 'chemical' period..

For 21-day pills; if you start on day 1 of your cycle, you're protected against pregnancy from the start. If you start on day 5 of your cycle, you're protected against pregnancy in 14 days. Any later than that and you're protected when you start pack 2. In fact, if you didn't take the pill on day one then you're actually protected in 7 days. However, most pills are missed within the first few months and especially within the first packet. Your body won't adjust to missed pills immediately, which is why they say 14 days. If you've been told 28 days or the instructions say 28 then that's why too.

The logic here is completely lost on me. What does access to birthcontrol for poor americans have to do with you getting a free fuck?

I can appreciate the sarcasm here, but it's not that funny if it doesn't make sense, so 'splain.

government should be providing NECESSARY services, not paying for people to have sex with my tax money. does it also give free beer to poor people?

^^^ Ugh, this is sounding very teabaggy to me. Disagreeing on politics is part of life but I ask you to consider the cost in tax dollars for welfare for children living in poverty because their parents couldn't even afford contraception. I think there are much bigger ethical questions when it comes to tax spending, but that's just the way my brain's wired.

Also, the governments not paying for people to have sex, it's subsidising reproductive freedom, which (as a woman) I think every woman should have access to. A man might not understand the imperative because he can walk away from a pregnancy like it never happened, a woman has to deal with it.

Ill have to agree that giving out free pills to the poor whores is definitely cheaper for the government overall when compared to the welfare/healthcare money they would be providing to raise the bastard children.

free abortion would be another good step forward

i've been looking into Planned Parenthood so I think I'll try that. I'm currently out of work and have nothing else to pawn/sell to pay for it.

I use the pill for multiple reasons not just contraception.

I'd feel bad having anyone else pay for it. I guess it's the same concept as not letting a guy pay for my dinner. I would just feel like I was using him

    thanks for the help/suggestions!

In my town you can get free birth control from the health department. I used to do it as a teenager, although I don't neccessarily agree with arbitrarily handing out free birth control to every teenager that walks in the door.

My best friend has no insurance and some kind of serious cyst problem on her ovaries and the only appointment she can secure at the health department is three months away because they are completely booked up with slutty mcslutterson teenage girls trying to get put on birth control.

I don't really have a problem with giving out free birth control, but if they're going to spend tax payers money on that shit they should also spend it on more serious medical issues and prioritize a little better.

As far as the government's motives for doing it, it has nothing to do with subsidizing sexual freedom. Its population control, pure and simple.

there should be women's clinics in your area. Go there and they should be able to help you out. Or if that doesn't work, you can get a generic brand birth control pill for 14$ a month which you can pay out of pocket and not go through insurance. It's cheaper through your insurance but if you don't want to use that, you can get it from a pharmacy for just 14$ a month with a perscription from a doctor.

How is this completely retarded? People are going to have sex anyways, why not make BC affordable? Judging by all the cracked-out piece of shit parents there are nowadays seems to me we should putting that shit in the water to prevent more people from having kids they can't take care of. If you're too poor to afford BC, you're too poor to afford a kid. Bottom line.

BTW, planned parenthood has a low income insurance that you can apply for and if you qualify they cover paps and BC.
