When will a political party that actually represents the people take a stand? Moreover, what could be done to help a party like this start? It seems we are misrepresented and our voices are no longer heard, no matter what the news and media likes to make us believe about "choice".
You still have your voice, everyone does. Change will come because upcoming generations are growing tired since many have grown up with the internet as their news source. When the older generations die off a greater size of the population will be on the same wave length. Things will turn and the corruption will become more known and the people will stand together against those who try to govern them. Every ladder has a last step and eventually you will fall.
the people voted you just think they dont represent the people because you probably didnt vote for them
Regardless of the country involved elections are often despoiled because so many people are unwilling to think for themselves. There are large masses of people, stupid and lazy, who will blindly follow the voice of a coniving politition who appeals to gut level fears and bravado. Palin, Perry, Bachman and others in the US play to bottom feeders. They feed lazy, ignorant masses the kinds of messages that require no thinking, no critical analysis. They hand out lists of enemies, Liberal, welfare cheats, Gays, illegal immigrant and tell thei lazy followers that these people are the enemy. Yes we can lose the voice of reason because far to few people are willing to thionk for themselves. They suck on the glass tit of the boob tube where they are fed a diet of quick easy solutions that require no effort on their part. They are told who to hate and who will make everything all better. Its a package wraped in flags and christian deceit. Good people who love their countries and work to improve them often lose out to slugs who are unwilling to think and will follow the likes of perry, palin, bachman et al. God it drives me nuts to see the people of these affluent nations forego their duty to actively be involved in politics and instead shuffle behind the swineherds who blather quick-fix solutions. Shit, didn't relalize how pissed I am at lazy people.
Nope, anyone who doesn't put a lot of serious thought into their responsibility and duty to vote is lazy. The fact that they may vote different than me after they've thought it out the way democracy works and I gotta live with it or saddle up my ass and ride away.
it won't. because no ideology is anything other then different words for the same lie, that the dominance of aggressiveness necessary, or even useful. political parties may be some more useful then others though. the fantasy that government size can be reduced by not having government do anything useful is nonsense of course. there are just two good reasons for organizing society at all. one is infrastructure that everyone can use (and keeping it from destroying everything else), and the other is seeing to it that everyone can at least get by, if not always to anyone's complete gratification.
The most recent of the very nasty infighting that has been going on for the past 50 years or so and seems to be getting worse by the day, really illuminates what's important to our legislators. Get/stay in office and get/stay on the gravy train of our tax dollars at all costs. Say anything,no matter how outrageous, including outright lying. The costs are to us. The 2 party system has become a bad joke when we consider that election cycle after election cycle ,additional parties are locked out. The joke's on us. Civility and common sense are rare these days. The election is coming and the shit will fly again. Unfortunately, the bottom line is--is that the shit ends up on us. Again.
they cast their vote by choosing not to and I respect their decision..that the beauty of democracy..people have the choice to vote who they want ...or to just accept what their brothers and sisters want..not voting is the same as voting
I kind of see your point about not voting but it doesn't sit well with me, too passive and indifferent. With party line voting organizing their faithful an election can be decided by indifference rather than informed citizens. Thats pretty scary to me, why have democracy if we concede our feelings and opinions by saying I'll let others decide. That strikes me as morally wrong. Equally, to simply vote because some noise machine makes an appealing sound is foolish and dangerous. It would be good to get below the surface of the noise and into the substance of issues. I'm worried about the direction our nation could head. I really wish people valued their nation enough to be well informed about what our choices could mean. Am I a dreamer that this will happen, possibily so. Regardless I would be less than responsible to my country if I didn't add my thoughts to the mix of "we the people". I fear an indifferent population gives power to dangerous elements.
well I guess we're quite different then I respect other peoples choices to not vote or to vote uninformed..after all..who's decision is it whether they are uninformed or not?...it's certainly not mine
