I think a lot of people that are addicted to heroin started out with perscription opiates. One of the worst junkies that I knew never touched heroin, but he ate massive amounts of oxy's and methadone plus several non-opiate drugs (xanax & soma) everyday. I saw him go through withdrawals several times when he was either trying to quit or his source dried up.
