ok, i already know about the free-macrame patterns website, and elaine crafts. im getting bored w/ the 5/6 different patterns i know, any ideas? think about it, i got only dark brown and natural colored hemp to work with here as there are no craft stores close enough to me, cept walmarts (ugh). i live by the ocean, and i have lots of scallop type shells, glass beads, and some wood beads to work with. but the same old 5/6 diff weaves/knots etc.
You can get colored 1mm colored hemp in a pack of 12 diff colors off ebay also .5mm, I like the small stuff sometimes for more detailed works. Tis pretty cheap too I can never find colored stuff at the hobby lobby by my house or any of the other places. I was about to dye my hemp because I have tons and tons of spools of 1mm natural colored hemp. Brown is easy to come by at the wal-mart by my house but my hobby lobby doesn't stock much hemp. well, i unfortunately have no cash. also, my network etc isnt so secure so i wouldnt trust buying anything online. i generally like really tight weaves, as the alternating square knots, slide loop clasps, etc, all get ratty and crappy looking with wear and tear. its amazing what you can do w/ half knots and certain numbers my man.
is this website practically dead? whenever i post something, nothing happens really. `sigh` i mean like these bracelets/ etc. i think i can make the first one. but the second one, i look at it and say "wow how did they knot that?" i found the pic on here, some lady made it. i give you props btw, that necklace is awesome!
It is a 2-1-2-1 pattern of square knots using 6? cords. You could try making small bags, lighter holders, junk like that.
yeah getting sick of bracelets, but i dont know how to make a bag or anything. like think of alternating square knots as a sheet of paper, how do you connect it on the bottom and the sides?

I'm a total newbie at this knotwork stuff and I am so loving it. aha Awesome videos and tutorials for making "stuff" hempjeweleryworld !! A question - whats the average length for making a bracelet ? I know what fits me, but I want to make some to randomly give away... cause random acts of giving away is good for me. . if I make it and don't get rid of it/give away, then I'm hoarding it.
i met one chick w/ wrists smaller than mine, but my wrists are the same as the average chick's. everyone has diff sizes, and a lot of chicks like them a lil bigger anywayz. i get told all the time i should make them bigger even though mine will fit them perfectly. its all in who likes what you know? thanx for the websites btw ill check them out
