We dont understand everything about the brain, but we will get to a time eventually when we do.

Is basically just a whole bunch of electrical impulses running around, retrieving info, mapping memory

At this point we have that natural firewall that no one knows how to get in there.

But what happens if/when that eventually can happen. That we can just wifi each others brains? Cut through all the bullshit and see the truth as to what people are actually thinking.

When you wont be able to hide any thoughts from your partner, kids, parents, friends, the cops, registered voters.

Maybe not in our lifetime, but maybe not that far off. That kind of thing maybe more of a revolution to peoplekind than anything thats come before

It will be kind of crazy if that ever happen. It will be scary too because no one like the truth. But i'm willing to bear it.

I mean it will be great to know what people are thinking, but that wifi shit is too much. There will be alot of more violence going on.

I think we already have some degree of telepathy. Not in the sense that we understand it though, more like a totality of consciousness we all have access to but have no control over.

Laws would be passed to forbid mind reading and stop the bloodshed in the streets.

Some would get closer and others would move apart. It may help in creating more real and solid friendships, and help reveal fake friendships. Networking would no longer be necessary because everyone will know each others motives and just provide each other whatever each other needs to try to gain momentum in their careers and whatnot...

But it would end up causing a lot of anger and people who love privacy would do whatever they feel is right to protect that privacy...

Some animals are already able to do this, in a way. I've heard of some species of octopus that literally wear their minds on their skin. Their skin changes colour to display whatever they're feeling/thinking at that moment. A sort of ''Visible Language'' (As Terence Mckenna would say) that they are unable to hide.
It would be interesting if humans headed in this direction and would inevitably end a lot of dishonesty and deception.
I did a quick google search about the octopus thing and found an interesting site if anyones interested.

I think a strong minded individual would be able to build good wall though, it wouldn't be too hard to protect your thoughts, computers can be password protected, a proxy can hide your identity, going back before computers, a safe could hold your most valuable possessions. I guess what I'm saying is, if our firewall is natural right now, then at that level of understanding we should be able to improve and build on them. We have to start with our own minds to learn to understand others, right? So why wouldn't we be able to achieve a greater level of protection, being that we have a natural one now?

Verbal communication would decline. What would the point of a conversation be if you already know what the person is going to say before they speak?

There would be more violence in the streets. Everywhere you go you would hear people thinking their hatred.

Suicide rates would go up. You would be in a constant state of confusion and noise unless you could turn it off. You would have random uncontrollable voices in your head every time someone was around. You would essentially be living like a schizophrenic.

I am very good at reading people's expressions/voices/body language. I can usually tell how someone feels or what they are thinking based on that.

And if I know someone really well, I can tell over the phone.

However, if people could read MY mind...I'd have no friends left. No one would talk to me ever again. hahaha
