A poem about the ONGOING Occupation of Wall Street.

    Hey Moneyman
By Lupe Fiasco, the American rapper

Hey Moneyman the crowd is outside. The past, the future and the now is outside. The teachers and cooks and the drop-outs too. Word on the street is they looking for you…

Hey Moneyman they saying what’s the score? And how much blood have you spilled on the butcher shop floor? Those numbers keep running but what they running into? The crowd is outside and they asking of you…

Hey Moneyman Moneyman the mayor’s on the phone. He says he wants to know if all those people went home. Those momma’s and poppa’s and students and cooks. Those teachers and preachers, one second I’ll look…

Hey Moneyman Moneyman the tents are still up, the songs are still singing and the coffee’s in cups. The nights due to fall and the sun’s going down but its still a whole mess of good folks hanging ’round…

They eyes are wide and their voices are loud. Its white and black and colorless proud. The signs are big and the smiles are bright. By heaven I reckon its gone be one hell of a night!

Hey Moneyman poor Moneyman you should slip out the back. Cuz’ the forces of greed are under attack. No bombs or bullets or rocks or guns. Just hashtags and voices at the tops of their lungs!

And Moneyman Moneyman I wont need a ride. But if you need me…

    You can find me outside.

Yeah, even Al-Jazeera has been providing better coverage : http://stream.aljazeera.com/story/u...Flow&utm_medium=MasterAccount&utm_term=tweets

Yahoo has now put up a news post about the support of them through people buying pizza at a local pizzaria for them from everywhere in the US, a few people from Hawaii and Alaska bought pizza for them.

Also, they are offering to pay to bus people to New York from from states away !

The police are now arresting people for bogus reasons! Things are getting more tense today due to the aggressive police actions.

Here's a video of cops arresting people, good luck viewing it, it keeps stalling.

They pulled over a Wikileaks truck! Looks like it was bringing a Public address system to the protest, as they had the driver open the truck to look inside. I didn't know Wikileaks had a truck!

Occupy Wall Street Enters Its Fourth Day, Tensions Rise (Accompanying video posted by Skip, post #24)
The 'Occupy Wall Street' protest entered its fourth day on Tuesday, as anti-corporate protesters continued to occupy parts of lower Manhattan. While the organizers had hoped 20,000 would show up and dance, do yoga and raise awareness of the opposition to current economic policies, the turnout has been smaller -- but equally fervent. Many protesters are still there four days in (and they even got a celebrity appearance from Roseanna Barr, who urged the government adopt a "new capitalism.")

The Times reported Monday that at least five people were arrested, including some who were arrested on an obscure law banning public assembly while wearing a mask. Many of the arrests indeed have been over minute, often semantic, disagreements.

From the website OccupyWallStreet.org, which has been monitoring the protest:

The first arrest was a protester who objected to the police removing a tarp that was protecting our media equipment from the rain. The police said that the tarp constituted a tent, in spite of it not being a habitat in any way. Police continued pressuring protesters with extralegal tactics, saying that a protester on a bullhorn was breaking a law. The protester refused to cease exercising his first amendment rights and was also arrested. Then the police began to indiscriminately attempt to arrest protesters, many of them unsheathed their batons, in spite of the fact that the protest remained peaceful.

The Occupy Wall Street Twitter feed says that one of the protesters is in critical condition.

While the protest's organizers had stressed that they wanted this to be a peaceful occupation, tensions have flared between the occupation and the cops assigned to keep order downtown. The group Anonymous claimed that cops have increased their presence and stolen recording equipment from some of the protesters.

You can see from this video that things are getting a little rough, as cops and protesters seem to be filming each other, waiting for each to make one false move.

If this happened in the middle east, we'd see it on TV, and it would be the poor repressed everyday heroes in some-where-istan who have the balls to stand up to their corrupt corporately owned cops and hold a peaceful protest of state sanctioned robbery of the people, despite facing violent arrest on bullshit trumped up charges that could affect the rest of their life.

I've been writing to news stations to get them to cover this more. I suggest you do the same if you want.

Also been writing senators and the Speaker of the House.. liking and commenting in as many youtube videos and pages related to this I could find.

I'll do some online advocacy/liking tonight.

Meanwhile, as soon as someone wants to buy me a ticket, I'm in :p

How are the protests in other places going? I saw there was supposed to be one in austin....

As this won't do anything.... they should do round 2 during spring break. Could probably get many many many more if it was properly advertised by strategically placed college students.

You can go on http://usdayofrage.org/ and find or organize a protest yourself. Most of them are going down in October. I've told my friends if this keeps gaining momentum I'm gonna go with them to the nearest one around here.

It'll only do as much as you want it to :) At first I was like haha this is silly. But now I'm like shit it's better than just sitting on my ass bitching about the state of the country and not doing anything about it. And if anything it'll just be a way to vent lol.

I will be in New York for a couple of days the third week of October. I hope this is still going down then; I will be there complete with protest signs and plenty of rage if the protests are still happening.

On other news outlets, I read through the comments sections and alot of people disregard these people as "bums" and as people living with mommy and daddy still.
It seems that people are not open to these protests. Mass media manipulation on society allows these radical individuals to just be tossed to the side.
People are still too cozy making insults over virtual realities. Can't think for themselves. I hope these protests spread. I have seen and heard alot more ruckus about people wanting to make lasting changes.

A friend of mine is a webmaster and programmer. He has worked for myspace and facebook. But durinig the last election in Canada he worked for the Reform party. (Canadian Tea Party) His job was to use software to post comments and create fake accounts on social networking sites that favored the Reform party agenda and slandered the other political parties.

He laughed telling me that he managed over 500 accounts and could thumbs down any intelligent informative comment on Yahoo News off the site in less than 5 seconds.

So those comments your reading are probably the same thing. If they're doing it in Canada they are certainly doing it in the United States.

Yes, this happens in the US 24/7. Funny thing is when they do all those polls or when it comes time to vote all those thumbs down don't account for much!

We didn't lose. Stop with that negativity. If you wanna go to your hiding place you'll die there too. This is just the beginning. There will be wayy more protests and possibly even rioting leading into next year. All this will lead up to the next election. So pick your side and do something about it!
