    You are probably correct.

Again you are correct but probably not in the way you think. :)

I posted this in a thread about how to stay the hell out of hell, but then it occurred to me that it answers this thread too.

"And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying,
"Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"

Jesus said "What is written in the law? How do
    you read?"

And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all
your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."

And he said to him, "You have answered right; do this, and you will
    live." Luke 10:25-28

And in order to love God, we must remember how the Bible actually defines God:

"And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him." John 4:16

So there ya go. You love God? God isn't going to send you to hell, no matter what you put up your pooper :)

Love is word tossed around these days to point where it is almost meaningless. In fact many feel that love and sex are synonymous. People love their dog, their new shoes and ice cream. Love in the Bible is not this namby-pamby kind of love. God is not afraid of hurting your feelings, if you need to be told that what you are doing is harming yourself and/or others. God is teaching us to benefit ourselves, no matter what we may think or feel about it.

    As for what love of God means, the Bible puts it best;
"For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome" (1 John 5:3)

GOD doesnt make you Gay, he gave you free will to choose. GOD doesnt Make us do anything. Dont blame your choices on GOD.

God Doesnt make you who you are, you grow into who you are to become, through experience and learning.

Your parents made you not GOD. You've heard the story I'm sure, by now. It goes something like this. Two ppl meet, they desire each other, have intercourse. The male pumps sperm into the female's vagina and if sparky sperm penitrates an egg a baby human is formed and attaches to the uterus. It grows in the womb for 40 weeks and then crawls out with a few pushes from the mother.

An infant is unaware of it's sexuality, how can it be born gay. Being Gay is a preference not a spieces.

The Christian Bible says it's an abomination in GOD's eyes to be gay, so in order to be believer of what is written and to practise the christian faith, it would seem to me that being a gay christian is an oxymoron.

If you believe what the bible teaches, then you also have to believe that being gay is an obomination in GOD's eyes. So you beileve that you are an obomination and still practice homosexuality within the church.

You have two choices. Either stop practing the christian faith or stop being gay. I dont see how you can be both, if you are practising what GOD is offended by that's hypicritcal.

The question you should be asking yourself is, if you believe what your doing is wrong is GOD's eyes, you either stop believing in GOD and believe in yourself or stop practicing homosexual activities.

Who knows what GOD thinks. Only man's inturpretation of what we think he meant. We could be way off or spot on.

The best that one can do is try to be the best person they can be and harm none. We all know in our own hearts what is right or wrong for us. No one can make these decissions for us, we must choose our own path.

    Nice comment shameless_heifer, I will just add this;

I was raised at a time when you took responsibility for your actions. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
(please, I'm not equating homosexuality to a crime, it's just a saying about being able to take responsibility for your actions [IMG] )

But now what you do is not your fault, there is no personal responsibility for the things you do. If you trip and fall down, then you're not clumsy, it's the fault of the sidewalk maker or the city for not maintaining the sidewalk or the store owner, I guess for even having a sidewalk in front of his store.

It's time to grow up and take responsibility for our actions, even if you were "born" a homosexual or a heterosexual for that matter, you don't have to act on that, it is a personal choice to do so.

Nothing in your life forces you to do anything.

So stop hiding behind excuses and rationalizations.

Stand up and say this is who I choose to be.

Christ came to make you free from the bonds of law. Read the book of Galatians in the bible, this will clear some things up.

Although it is prohibited by Old Testament law, and advised against in the New Testament, you are not held accountable for your sins as a Christian, you are forgiven regardless of what you do. Christians eat pork and shellfish for this very reason, whilst it is called an "abomination" by the Old Testament, just as homosexuality is. If one Christian eats pork and you have sex with a man, neither has any right to tell the other that what he is doing is wrong and unforgivable.

I am not justifying either eating pork or homosexuality, but the point is, you can literally go kill someone and still be saved.

Good post. I'm a heterosexual, but I'm fed up with the judgments and misinterpretations people have against homosexuals. Jesus allowed people to be free from the rituals and strict laws that the Old Testament had to offer.

Also, just because a person is romantically attracted and in love with a person of the same sex, that doesn't mean they're going to engage in sexual activity. Love isn't limited to sex.

You can be gay and a Christian. I've watched and read about many people who just can't help their orientation. It's not their fault.

I think as long as its a genuine relationship, a union of two souls, its fine. I don't think it should be all about superficial lust, and that goes for straight relationships too.

Eh that's the people, not God. There's a lot of modern Pharisees in this society, unfortunately.

Jesus taught to love all his children, and promoted non-violence.

And this is why once saved, always saved is not a Biblical or a Christian teaching.

    Personal opinion:
You were made to be chaste and celibate.

The bottom line is that lust is bad, whether gay or straight. Just don't marry and know God chose you to be special and set apart.

I think you can be a gay Christian. The Biblical injunctions about being gay have mostly to do with dominance, temple prostitution, pederasty, lust, and inhospitability. The idea of a loving same sex relationship was unknown in biblical culture.

Actually the bible mentions loving same sex relationships such as David and Jonathan, Jesus and John, they just weren't engaging in sexual relations because God condemned that but nice try anyway.

Thanks for the clarification. The Bible makes no mention of loving same sex sexual relations. Every instance in which same sex relations are mentioned involves lust, domination, pederasty, gang rape, or temple prostitution.

Actually at 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 there is a simple list of those who will not inherit God’s kingdom. Listed is "men who lie with men", there is no mention of "lust, domination, pederasty, gang rape, or temple prostitution", it merely lists "men who lie with men" among others who will not inherit God’s kingdom.
