Michael Schmidt returns to his hunger strike to continue to battle the government to allow people to make their own informed decisions regarding their food. http://hartkeisonline.com/raw-milk/michael-schmidt-back-on-hunger-strike/
we should all just throw eggs mixed with sperm at our elected officials but for real they shouldn't just be banning things we eat.
Although I understand their concerns... they are unfounded... I grew up drinking raw milk, both from cows and goats... I drink raw goats milk now... As long as everything is clean and the milk is handled and stored correctly, there is nothing wrong with raw milk. This more about control of the people and market then it is about health.
Ridiculous! Yes lets outlaw a substance that has many health benefits and that has been the norm with humanity for thousands and thousands of years. But yet toxins like aspartame and splenda and hundreds of others are still perfectly legal. Society is so backwards....
i heard about this on the radio. and the government said 'Bill of Rights? what bill? we aint aware of no bill...put your hands on your head. lace your fingers together!' http://www.farmtoconsumer.org/aa/aa-26april2010.htm
Back here, again. I hear that Dick Cheney had some critical comments at Obama over the handling of crimes due to the so-called terrorism of mankind in America probe on the original fight.
they do that kind of shit... 'hey, mr. x is a blankety blank!' 'yeah, and you're a hinkeydink!' keeps all the proles from paying attention to anything logical. kind of like the fights in a schoolyard or on youtube...or sunday football. meanwhile, they loot the icebox and safe. all alike. none different. Ben Franklin allegedly said, 'Any man who wants the Presidency bad enough to run for it cannot be trusted with it.' this goes for many other appointed and elected positions. elect by random drawing!
Specifically, unpasteurized milk isn't any more dangerous if it's treated safely and properly tested. I don't really see a problem with a person drinking it, but specifically, selling it could be dangerous if it wasn't treated properly. It's the same reason you would make a restaurant get certified for cleanliness and I don't think it's unnecessary government regulation, but admittedly, I don't know much about the specifics in this case.
By law, you are not allowed to even give milk to someone for their pets to drink... All milk is supposed to go from the farm, to the dairy processors to the stores... Farmers buy a certain quota of milk they are supposed to produce, if they produce under or over, they are fined.
I enjoy the idea of drinking raw milk. I would rather drink raw milk from my own hobby farm than a massive milk producing 'factory'. Gotta love the food police...
Makes sense to me. In Canada where healthcare is a public expense, legally disallowing something that will likely result in more illness makes sense.
Except that there is no proof that raw milk results in more illnesses... In fact, there is a lot of evidence that it is healthier for you. However, even if it wasn't, what you are suggesting can be applied to all aspects of life... Let's see.... no more smoking, eating red meat, driving cars (or using fossil fuels at all), no more cutting trees down, no more burning materials for heat, no more satellites in the sky and so on... because ALL of those things have been PROVEN to be detrimental to a person's health. You want to go outside? Better check the weather channel and consult the statasticians because you may get hit by lightning... After all, if its public health care, it only makes sense... Wait.. I know!!! We'll wrap everyone in bubblewrap, make them sit in a padded room, filter all the air and water that goes on to them, and make sure everything is irradiated... After all... if they get sick, its on everyone else to pay for it, so they shouldn't do anything that may result in healthcare services being needed.... Or.... back on the planet earth with the humans... People should be allowed to make their own decisions regarding their health. PERIOD. Health care is not a privledge to be doled out to those who act in a manner you feel is 'right'.
Right, because raw milk cannot harbor E. Coli, listeria, brucella, or salmonella, or any other pathogen for that matter, and pasteurization cannot kill them anyway. Most raw milk is safe, but if more raw milk were consumed, more unsafe milk would be consumed, hence more illness. "Evidence" that is not very strong. And, you know, getting sick isn't too healthy for you either. H But not as easily preventable.
Raw milk does not cause ANY sickness... Not when it is from healthy animals that are treated well and the condition of the equipment and handling procedures are maintained properly. The fact that stupid people do stupid things and get sick from it, just proves there are stupid people... not that raw milk is bad. Of course, a lot of those type people don't raise animals on their own, they prefer to buy commercial crap instead.
Under those conditions, no. But, again, if raw milk were more widely consumed, more people would get sick from it because conditions are never perfect, especially on a large scale. So I guess it doesn't matter if stupid people get sick? There are billions of people in this world. Not all of them can produce their own food. Fact of the modern world.
Actually, I would prefer it if the stupid people would drink bad milk and die from it... it would save me from conversations such as these.
