Sorry I didn't know where I can't post this issue at. Ok I'm thinking about buying a AC that goes on the window. Any ways is there a way to make them secure. I know I can put a wood to seal the hole. But my concernt is. What if they just push the unit in. And have a easy asses hole to get in my propery. Let me add I work at nights and my room is facing the street Help plz

On the top right and left hand corner of the air conditioner window extensions there are nail holes to secure the air conditioner in place to the window.

It’s far from full proof but it’s a cheaper alternative than purchasing an air conditioner security cage [IMG]

I'm glad. Did I just say that? I just hate lazzy people that love to get free shit from you. While you are at work busting your ass off they are home warm sleeping. I hate thiefs with a passion

check your friends and maybe one is a welder...that really looks like a custom made item....custom for your window/a/c size

build one with some wood and fence, nail it to house.. there should be hole on the frame of the AC where it mounts in the window, and it lips against the window frame. its its wood put screws in it. then screw the window to the frame above so it cant be pushed up and a person crawls under it to gain entry to the home. this is how this guy got crushed.. guillotine style.. :D

When you mount it in the window screw the bottom of the AC outer casing to the windowsill.

Otherwise once you have fitted the wood around it, you could use L shaped angle brackets and screw one side against the wood and the other in to the side casing of the AC. Make sure your not screwing in to anything you shouldn't of course, but with both of my AC's anyway, they internals were able to be slid from the outer casing, the casing screwed in place, I made sure everythign was flush, (angle grind/ hacksaw the end of bolts if need be) and then just slid the unit back in to the already secured casing.

AC cages are very necessary if you want to protect your AC from theft. AC cages are very effective and inexpensive. You can buy it market. You also buy the AC cages from online store. I think local stores are the best way to buy the AC cages. Thanks

AC cages are very necessary if you want a security to your Air conditioner. Air conditioner is very important. AC unit is also more important if you want security for Air conditioner. AC unit helps to safe the Air conditioner from damage. You can buy the AC cage from market as well as online store.

Just screwing your window shut and caulking the hell out of it will secure it pretty well. It won't stop a determined thief that has plenty of time to act unobserved, but then again nothing will if he has enough time.
