Make It Stop (Septembers Children) - Rise Against

Has anyone heard this song? I'm not gay but I have the utmost respect for Rise Against for doing this song. Great song. Their contribution to the Life gets better project or the It gets better project (Im not sure what its called ).

Ive heard this song probaly ~20 times now and never realized the meaning behind it 0_0

My heart goes out to all the kids who put up with that kind of treatment, it really is fucking pathetic people tormenting others for the way they were born

The video is not even close to the real deal, has to be dumbed down to appear on the music shows or whatever, or so they dont offend their fans

But a more accurate depiction would include the gay girl getting raped by guys to try and 'straighten' her out, or the little black dude getting forced to suck dick in the bathroom stalls. Or the scene where he is forced to kiss a girl, a more accurate one would be him getting pinned down and her sitting on his face - which is the kind of stuff that really leads them to end it, not so much bullying

And I didnt check whether the singer is gay, but if he or whoever wrote the song is, but may have gone through high school with none of that kind of trouble, maybe too butt ugly for any of that kind of attention, doesnt make him an expert on anything.

There can be a big difference between being an ordinary looking gay teen and one way too effeminate or pretty for his own good.

Going to end up sounding like a dick again, but this kind of thing ends up having the opposite effect it should. With this issue, No 1 problem is that some gay teens get forced into sex acts.....by heterosexuals, not just due to horny, but humiliation, anger, mob mentality.

So if the message doesnt tackle that, will just end up sounding to some of them like, ok we will help you and pretend to care, just as long as you never try to talk about some of the things they make you do - which is exactly the kind of thing they hear in the bathroom stalls "Ya tell anyone about this fag, I'll beat the shit out of you"

 

I like Rise Against - they touch on a lot of different subjects. I thought it was a good video.

 

I always like how hetro people confirm they are not gay.. Who gives a fuck!
