Hey peeps, I had a simple question for the women here. Im (male)single and recently i was introduced to a friends female friend for the first time at a party. through the night i had casual chats with her. i didnt spend heaps of time with her but i was admiring her from a distance and kinda felt a crush towards her ;-) anyway, she didnt have a guy with her and i kept wondering if she was single, then as i was walking past her as she chatted to one of her female friends, i over-heard her say something like..."yeah, bla bla,.... thats why he's my BEST MAN...." Now its the first time ive heard a girl referring to a guy as her "BEST MAN". Is this phrase ever used by women to describe their boyfriend/hubby , or was she maybe talking about a very close guy-friend?? i know it should be as simple as asking my friend, "hey is ur friend single?"..hehe i just havent had the chance to speak or catch up with that group. appreciate your advice ladies.
BUT i didnt think it had anything to do with a wedding, only the groom has a best man and only the guy would say "hes my best man..." i was assuming , the context of her convo with her friend seemd like she was speaking admiringly about someone. on tv i heard a british guy speaking to a group of women , and he used the term "Best Men" when referring to their boyfriends. thats why i thought its maybe a phrase i just wasnt familiar with. like when a girls says "i love him, hes my 'boy'...." etc
Instead of wondering what "best man" meant, why not just save yourself some time and trouble and ask your friend if the girl you're interested in is single?
