We need to be angry and bummed-out enough to stop paying taxes, license fees, WORKING, buying things, wearing clothes etc......:banghead: No offense but, this is the dumbest bunch of shit I ever heard. What you're saying is boycott life, and stop doing anything normal(anything at all) so the world will change for the better
It was a whiney rant in the WHINER'S forum, you sploodge gurbler. Yes, I am saying boycott life, look the fuck around, properly. You capitalised working, I assume that means you don't understand that in particular. I mean stop working for other people to make money on your back, stop supporting the fucks at the top. Stop working at McDonalds/TopShop selling unethically produced, unhealthy, overpriced shit to idiots that don't need it. Stop working in the sense it is perceived nowadays.
You must live life, not boycott it. Yes, I understand what you mean now. Stop working for "the man" and buying things from "the man" and just work for yourself and produce everything you need yourself. It's never going to happen, you look the fuck around properly, people don't want to live like that. They like to buy things they enjoy, and to be comfortable.
Which is why people need to get angry and bummed out, so they can not find comfort and enjoyment, so they endeavour to change things!
I wish I didn't live with so many stupid singled minded people in Australia. Yes its a great country but WTF is going on here? How can things change when others keep voting in the wrong option to control our country, whom only say what people want to hear. sorry for the ramble I hate labour party. And in my opinion the world is stuffed only way it can recover is by a massive disaster which wipes out 90% of worlds population
Don't read a lot of it, watching and listening with scepticism for though the truth may be out there, it hasn't got to print as yet (Ever the cynic I guess)
"Good times" , are what WE perceive them to be . There will always be good times , if we don't let outside negative influences dictate to us what good times are . The best times I've had in my life were free simple pleasures , that didn't cost a dime . And were devoid of materialistic , or monetary value . It's all about the perspective of the individual , and what he or she values in life . If in "good times" you mean economically coming to end . Then yes , for many I believe they are . People are going to have to deal with having less . People will have to struggle more and work harder . With less materialism , and have a dose of reality put into them . That the excess , greed , hunt to acquire more material possessions , and the "American dream " were dead end roads . Meant and designed to keep us slaves to a corrupt system . A society were mass consumerism is destroying the planet and its natural resources . An unsustainable fallacy . Man made prisons , that keep us in debt and miserable . I think it will be a good thing and liberating for many to be forced to get out of the live on credit lifestyles . To the ones that have gotten off the treadmill , "good times " are abundant . For me at least . Like Janis said , Freedoms just another word , for nothing left to lose !
There will always be good times for the selective few while the rest of us wallow in squalor fighting over a morsel of food Hotwater
The media works to instill fear and desensitize...it obviously works. The best alternative would be to make yourself conscious yet not hopeless. This could be just an ideal, but then call me an idealist, I think it's possible. There are still many beautiful, natural things on earth...not to mention good people. Even if we take small steps toward 'betterness', I think it will pay off tremendously. Volunteer for a cause you believe in that's negative impact has caused you to become disillusioned, plant an organic garden, buy less, watch tv less..etc.
Not going off topic to much, what a great example are summer festivals the vibe you get when your amongst 100,000 others that like the same lifestyle as you. and police witness what kind of people go to these things are people who just wanna feel part of something even is its drug induced and for only a fleeting moment in the middle of a trax were you feel the earth living. started rambling again my point was that these events still get bad press no newspaper story details how everyone is so relaxed and open, well iv never read 1
Turn off the TV period... use the permanent off button- which is usually not found on the set. It's called a sledge hammer.
If you don't have the ability to filter the info thrown at you via the media perhaps it's best to turn the tv off indeed.
But now we have the Occupation protest movement. At least somebody is trying to do something to improve the situation. When I started this thread, I saw nothing going on that was good. The good people seemed to have given up. Not true now.
First of all - come to terms with the reality that your government nol onger exists to serve your interest (if it ever has), but instead serves to placate you, exploit you, and perpetuate the illusion that you have some say in the laws of which you are subject. Second - Have fun anyway, fuck 'em. Third - take every opportunity to undermine the system I described in the first paragraph in anyway possible - including and especially by noticing and making known every injustice and abuse visited upon the "people" and the hypocrisy that facilitates it - without endangering or undermining yourself. Educate and Encourage others to do the same.
When things deteriorate, economically, socially, governmentally, you end up with this kind of situation: You stand in line, begging for food, like these people here: and then these guys show up, and steal all the food:
