Preparation for the first trip (solo)

Alright so after much thought and deliberation I've decided I want my first trip to be completely by myself. I don't have deep seated personal issues. I just have a lot of confusion about who I am, and what I'm trying to be and whether or not these are the same things. From the sounds of it Lucy has a lot to teach you so I feel it best to try and clear some of my identity confusion up with a solo trip, I'll probably call one of my friends at some point but that'll be the extent of interaction with people. I really want this to be about self-reflection and keep it as a private experience since it'll be my first time. Anyways, I'll be in my apartment by myself hoping to delve into a deeper core of my mind. Anyways, just wanted to get any advice, tips etc... from you hip travelers.

 

Go into the trip with a good open mindset and give yourself the allotted time for the trip.

Other than that check through the First time questions thread stickied at top of the LSD section, there is some good info there.

 

Yup read through the whole thing and as far as an open mind, positive vibes are not a problem at all.

 

I'm glad to hear you did some reading. GB's advice is good but I'm going to play the "old dude" here... You're right about lucy and it can be a very positive growth oriented experience.
I don't know what experience you have with psychedelics but, if this would be your first, may I suggest you not try to get "everything" out of your first time but rather gauge what the experience will be and have a sitter if that is possible? I don't know if that's an option for you.
I'm a set and setting guy however, I would feel cautious just from what you said in your first post. Having some "issues" you want to explore and going in with that set, hell bent on diving into those in an experience that you can't quite yet comprehend if you haven't had one can be overwhelming. I'm not saying it would be bad but it could go way deeper than you imagine and not having a "touchstone", someone that can help you, it can get rough alone. It doesnt all have to be done the first time and most times it's not.

Anything you'd care to add? What kind of doses are you looking at? Any idea of how strong they are? Do you like your apt and does it give you good vibes?
The idea of having a friend to call "just in case" doesn't work so well when just the very idea of dialing a number into a machine is the most foreign concept you've ever imagined.

I think solo is a great idea, in fact, I'm a bit scared to do L with a sitter, because there are certain parts of myself I don't want others to see.. I'd only do it if I'm tripping with other people, because that's suppose to intensify the trip from what I've heard!

Before you do it, I'm sure you'll be somewhat nervous, but DO make sure your in a good mood going in. You'll be a little surprised after all of the myths you've heard over time about Lucy, once you notice how much control you do actually have over it. If it works right, you'll go insane, but It's good.

I was pleasantly surprised by how different it was from anything I've ever read or watched about it. Words are created by patterns of concepts our minds perceive. It's such an extraordinary rare experience, there are no words to describe what you'll sense.

@Voyage I have quite a lot of experience with shrooms (6 grams being the most) and salvia which I know are completely different from lsd, but some of that experience I imagine should help. I just plan on taking a singular hit. And I'll remember what you said about not trying to go for everything, and yeah my apartment does give me good vibes. All I truly want is this first trip to be by myself. And I was just gonna have the friend muted on skype on my computer no dialing just hitting one key.

Shrooms and Lucy are two different things but experience with one translates to the other, you know what a psychedelic state is all about so, I retract my sitter advice and wish you well... :sunny: Your set/setting sounds positive too.

For me, I find L to be the most introspective experience I've ever had but even so, every one of the trips I've had with self examination as the goal I've tried to focus on one or two aspects. With the flood of data that comes in it works best for me.
