Californian seeking Canadian Commune

As the title says, I'm looking for Northern communities which are accepting "apprenticeships" in wilderness and rural commune living (also interested in learning to leatherwork, tailor, etc). I'm also looking for other Californians interested in the same to put our efforts together so that we may achieve our goals.

I'm a young adult with a good head of his shoulders and my hearts in the right place I just lack necessary funds, "professional" wilderness training and transportation to get started on my own. This has been a long time dream for me and I feel its time to chase it if I'm going to fully live my life and find out who I am.

So how is it going? I see this post was from back in Jan. Did you ever make it to Canada? I'm in N.Cal and I'm thinking about joining a commune...let me know whats up?
