I guess now is the time to ask away about this.

Is there a jailbreak? Jailbreaks in general - do they fuck up the phone?

How do you transfer books from the computer to the Iphone, and in what format does Iphone read them?

How do you get music files to Iphone? Can it transfer wirelessly?

I heard there was a jailbreak but I am not 100% sure. Jailbreaking has a extremely small chance to brick (make it unusable,) your iphone, but I think the percentage is something like 0.1% unless you do not follow the instructions properly. I know nothing about the books. As for music, you plug your iphone into your computer and transfer it through itunes, I also think you can buy songs through itunes on your iphone and download it straight to it.

Yep. Well since it's my wife's Iphone for work I wouldn't jailbreak it until I find others have done so successfully. There's a transfer program I have found called Imtoo Iphone Transfer Platinum. You can transfer through Itunes but you cannot choose which files you want to transfer, it just synchs everything. I have probably 100 gigs of mp3s so I need a more file specific program. Plus my wife wants pictures, ringtones, and books that we have on our computer. Iphone tries to control every single file which enters your phone which is ridiculous. I need workarounds.

You can pick what songs you actually want in your itunes, but with that much music it would take a while. You can try the program sharepod, you can use it to transfer individual albums/songs to your iphone, and can transfer songs from your iphone to your computer if you lose your original files (something itunes wont do) and I found it very easy to use when transfering music to my sisters itouch.

If you don't know how to jailbreak, it can be really bad for the iPhone. But, if you or someone else knows how to do it, it can be the best thing to ever happen to your phone.

I'm not sure about the other things...iPhones should have a reader or pdf client that should allow you to transfer books and music should be done via iTunes. If it can happen wirelessly, that's something new with that model of iPhone.

Jailbreaking an iPhone unlocks many fun features however I just want to point out that this will automatically void your warranty. As for music, definitely do it through iTunes.
