I attended a local protest a couple of weeks ago...That was entertaining and made new friends. Yesterday I opened an account at a Credit Union for the first time in my life. They say business is booming for them. Of course there was no line in the place...which is nice! And they're expecting a rush on Nov 5th, Bank Transfer Day, so if you're thinking of changing banks, that's a good day to do it! I've also linked up the Occupy movement to a number of websites, including this one... That's all so far... If you haven't done anything yet, tell us what you plan to do. If you aren't going to do anything for the movement, then don't bother to reply to this thread, thank you.
Here, and at various other online spots, I share information/stop disinformation about the Occupy Movement. I will be donating some winter clothing and boots to the Occupy Movement. I'll go through my camping gear and donate some of it, also.
- i have donated money to occupy newspapers/pamphlets - i have donated money for food for 2 diff occupy locations - i post and post and post stories on facebook - when i went to the airport at the beginning of October I carried a sign and had a sign on my book bag that read, "Support Occupy Wall Street" and gave a website - i have attended marches, and various information sessions at the local occupy nearby - in the beginning of the movement i wrote 2 letters to NPR stating how upset i was that they had not yet given Occupy Wall Street much press - i have been keeping friends and family involved, and have been telling co-workers about it unfortunately with my job I haven't had too much time to actually spend at actual Occupy Sites, but I make it there when I can, and when I can't I do what I can from afar
go to a lot of the GAs at occupy humboldt Signed up on the list to start turning the campus into a food garden started a facebook group to turn the rest of the city into a food garden made a crapload of muffins and donated them trying desperately to bring a sense of unity between the focused protest in my town and the one where people are getting a bit more rowdy trying to keep up ads on craigslist to draw people in, but they keep getting flagged and removed trying to organize (though its proving to be really tough to get off the ground) a group where everyone adopts a street in our town to make sure its always clean and i'll probably be setting up my tent there when my eviction notice that i got the other day kicks in
Mostly, all I can do in small-town Missouri with no credit union nearby is spread the word over the internet and on my campus. I'm hoping to get a solidarity demonstration going on campus (Wish me luck there...). I've been sending Emails like crazy, though, to whoever is making trouble.
