Hello, inspired by the other Ramen threads and because most of my threads seem to be about food/eating or world domination I try to start my own Ramen noodles thread. Well, for the first time since the Unix wars I have Ramen noodles. I unboxed them 10 minutes ago and I tasted them about five minutes ago. To make a long story short, I think I have to die now. The first bite was like what a helluva burn is that in my mouth? Now I can't feel my tongue anymore, but the stuff tastes like chicken or cat or such. Regards Gyro
ouch! blow on it! i can't eat normal ramen noodles (makes me think of 1990's perm-fried hair).. but instead eat the rice noodle kind. i try to keep some frozen veggies on hand to mix in there. eat it with chopsticks it'll slow you down! harder to burn ones self.
Hello Boogabaah, ah, thanks. You could have saved a young and prosperous life . I thought that the package came with rice noodles, but instead the noodles are made from wheat flour and spit... They are spicy at least. I guess it takes more energy to digest the noodles than it is in them . Regards Gyro
have to agree. hachi are the best way ever invented to eat noodles of any kind, even spaghetti. still need a spoon for the broth, which is where all the goodness from the meat and or veggies cooked with them ends up.
Hello, recently I was at an event, that could be described as a mediaeval binge. They had no spoons either (which from a historical point of view seems to be wrong), so we fished the dumplings with our fingers and slurped the broth out of the bowl. Regards Gyro
I like sucking a noodle up my nose, pull it out of my mouth, and gross out my woman by flossing with it.
well, quit eating ramen and, start eating ramyun. the real stuff from asia is true art. :2thumbsup: our stuff is more like true shit.:ack2: yeah, stay with the chop stick when eating ramyum. i mix ice in with the ramyun after it has cooked to cool it off; it does not affect the flavor.
I agree! I can not consider this product a food. My kids went through a phase of wanting to eat these and just buying them gave me the willies. Thankfully they out grew them.
Real homemade ramen is a delicious treat! But yeah, the junky, salty stuff in packages isn't good for anyone. Ramen shops are bigger on the west coast; haven't seen one out this way. However, they're worth hitting up.
Good morning, I can't read the characters on the packaging, but I think they avoid the term 'food' there . Regards Gyro
Good morning, I'm glad you mentioned that. When can I expect your arrival? Do you need special tools? :sunny: Regards Gyro PS: Not ramen, but funny anyways: http://revealingerrors.com/rice_transparency
i used to go to s.c.a. revels, when i lived in the barony of three mountains in the kingdom of an tir. we used wooden spoons, and of course our short knives. no forchettes of course, but wooden spoons were certainly period. you'd have to go a lot further back then the middle ages in most parts of the world to be before there were spoons of some kind. don't know when eating with the sticks was invented, but i'm pretty sure it goes back even further.
Hello, yepp, that's what I think, too. Have you tried to carve a wooden spoon? It's not easy to carve the concave round form with a straight blade. But you can do it, more or less. If you have a curved blade it is easy. I think you can do it even with a stone made blade if you try hard enough. Regards Gyro
