my parents divorced when i was 4 years old. i'm 17 now, almost 18, and for the past 14 years my mom has been raising me, my 3 sisters, my brother, solely on her own. i have another older sister that left the hosue 10 years ago. i am the youngest. we were getting by my entire life paycheck to paycheck plus my father's monthly child support check, which was bad enough. about 3 months ago my alcoholic father lost his job and no longer has to pay child support for me. my mom works as a daycare teacher and makes below poverty income. i have been in trouble with the law since i was 12 years old and the reimbursement costs are skyhigh. my mother has breast cancer as well. she can no longer afford to pay all the bills and if it wasnt for the fact that my father payed off the hosue until i turned 18, we'd most likely be homeless.
there is more info about my family and i's situation then this. if u'd like to know anymore, please let me know.

does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can help my mother make money? i have a job but minimum wage isn't enough to pay for everything. i'm asking for serious help, please. any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds tough Nevaeh, sorry to hear about your situation especially with the bad news about your mothers health. My mother just went through a bout cancer aswell. Just wondering, can you, your mom or one of your siblings apply for food stamps?! It wont be a huge weight off your shoulders but it should free up some money for other bills.

  3. Food stamps is a great idea! Is there anything that you or your mother can make to sell to neighbours or at local craft fares or the like. When I'm short of readies I sell bread and cakes to the neighbours and take a one day stall at the local flea market and sell anything I don't use anymore. you'd be surprised at what peeps will buy.

Death, mom is ill and N is underage.

I'd look at controlling EVERY expense to lower the need for money.

Get on all forms of public assistance, and check for any help for breast cancer.
Start with the Cancer Society, then ask at the local cancer center. They will know what is available.
You will go from lead to lead, but there is a lot out there in small to medium amounts.

can you modify the expenses from your troubles?
