You could do all of these things and still be a vegetarian. Vegetarians just don't eat meat. The term relates to a person's diet, not their opinions, morals, hobbies or anything else.
3. Be really aggressive, controlling and resentful due to your lack of essential meat intake in your diet (most vegetarians I have met have been like this)
Shame you are just one subjective voice among billions who has probably sampled a fraction of the vegetarian population so small that it isn't worth mentioning.
I'm a carnivore and if you are vegetarian for ethical reasons (which most vegetarians will say they are), you wouldn't hesitate to characterize me in a similar way.
I'm not characterising you or anyone in any way. If you understood my intentions with this thread you'd see that. You eat meat and I don't. That's the only difference we can be sure of when you say you're a "carnivore" (you mean omnivore, I assume) and I say I'm vegetarian.
If I've met say, 6 vegetarians and find all of them possessing certain obnoxious characteristics, is that so terrible? How many would I have to meet to confirm that? Why do you assume omnivore? I rarely eat vegetables, maybe the equivalent of a lettuce leaf per day.
I've found that alot of carnivores are often pretty hostile once they realise I'm a vegetarian. Its as if they think by my refusing to eat meat, I'm somehow judging them and disapproving of them without me even having to say anything. This really isnt the case, I make my decisions and everyone else is free to make their own. I'm sure some vegetarians are obnoxious and judgemental, but a helluva lot of carnivores are too.
You're an omnivore if you eat dairy or any plant matter whatsoever. I highly doubt you exist purely on meat. That's just absurd. As I said, vegetarians don't eat meat but meat eaters do. End of discussion. That was my intention for this thread. Stereotypes and generalisations are the opposite of what I was after.
If you honestly think that meeting "say six" vegetarians who you found to be obnoxious confirms that the millions of vegetarians all over the planet are automatically obnoxious you seriously need to work on your critical thinking skills. I've seen "say six" men eating apples over the past couple of years, so all men eat apples. I've also had "say six" teachers who I disliked, so all teachers are horrible. Or not.
well, likely you eat grains, or fruit or drink something other than blood. And I could say the people I have known who were heavy meat eaters were aggressive, pushy and unwilling to hear other viewpoints. But I know that was in their personality to begin with. MOD HAT ON: I think you are trying to provoke, walsh, and if it doesn't stop, I will delete your posts that are violating the terms of HipForums if the conversation gets civil, it is all good.
Why? I don't eat fruit or vegetables, or any grains. I eat meat, eggs and cheese, and drink water and cream. That's about it.
The bolded food items are not meat. You are therefore an omnivore. Your diet is also terribly unbalanced, as any decent doctor will tell you. Fruits and vegetables provide essential vitamins and minerals. Eating only meat, eggs and cheese is just...stupid. You're toying with your health, and why?
They aren't plants either. An omnivore eats meat and plants. I don't. Those things I eat also have essential vitamins and minerals. I say you don't need fruit and veg, but if someone thinks they do, don't listen to me - I challenge them to actually get off their ass and test it out on themselves instead of trusting what they hear. When "what you hear" comes from the vast majority of scientists worldwide, I think it's probably safest to just eat the odd apple or bit of cabbage, don't you? Somehow, I don't think a blogspot page is really enough to refute the entire scientific community the world over.
