The White House asked Americans to tell Obama what they want in the form of petitions. And so, many Americans started petitions asking for the legalization of marijuana. These petitions passed the threshold for a response by the White House. One petition even suggested regulating marijuana like alcohol. Despite the fact that now 50% of Americans are for the legalization of cannabis, the Obama Administration has decided to not change its policy, keeping cannabis as a schedule 1 drug, and continuing it's war on Americans who grow, sell and consume marijuana. This incredible disregard for the will of the American people must be answered in the polls next election! Just say NO TO OBAMA! We can do better than this! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/...egalization-position-marijuana_n_1068081.html
I signed that one and got an email reply saying the same thing. The reasons sited has me thinking they may as well outlaw alcohol (which they won't). LAME! I'm also probably on a "watch list" of the DEA now...... Oh Well.
This has pretty much confirmed what I already knew. Obama isn't going to change his mind, people! He's actually made the drug war even worse. Spread the word about Ron Paul! He will end the drug war, and allow the states to decide the law without fear. (I bet California would be the first to legalize.) He's the best chance we have towards the road to legalization, plus he's the best on all the other issues we're facing, too! He recognizes and sympathizes with medical marijuana patients, and said he's seen cancer patients which he feels would benefit a lot from it. And he doesn't only talk about marijuana for medical purposes, either. I've posted this video on other threads already, but I'll do it again for those who haven't seen it. Forget Obama! Time for some real change! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHBCsPYuKIs"]Ron Paul: End Marijuana Prohibition Now! - YouTube This one's also brilliant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHS_y94H1Dk"]Rep. Ron Paul meets a medical marijuana patient--Nov. 9 2007 - YouTube
Obama is such a tool, of course he won't legalize, and even if he did he'd want government regulation all over that shit.
Surprise surprise...the government doesn't listen to the people from which it supposedly derives all its power... I don't really understand how going to the polls will change anything. Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance, and no one else running against Obama is going to fight for legalization.
Is this really a surprise to anyone ? The only person that has ever had a serious shot at nomination that would end the war on drugs is Ron Paul.
give it a few more decades... You cant change their minds but another generation is coming and their minds will most likely clouded with smoke hehe... Too late for us though
Ron Paul actually does stand a chance. There have been polls that have shown Ron Paul tie against Obama. As for the Republican nominees, he's in third place right now, and once flavor-of-the-moment/joke Herman Cain is out of the picture, he'll be in the top tier. Ron Paul's numbers have remained consistent and growing, instead of the other candidate's fluctuating numbers. Plus, the media is finally slowly starting to relent and Ron Paul's appearing in interviews more often. I know, right? What happened to the hippies?
Exactly, he's a tool, as in inert and completely manipulated. Why are presidents still talked about like actual leaders?
Obama won't legalize weed because he is all about controlling us little people. Regulations and taxes that put small businesses out of business are only part of his MO in his power grab. Continueing to prosecute people for possesion of a roach is another way The Man has to keep power over us little people. Seriously, when did this fucker, Obama forget that he is my, our, servant. But seriously, I do love to drink. Haven't had a drink all week b/c despite Obama I still have a job and have to be up at 0630. Can't wait until 1530 when I can get outta here and go across the street to the Qwik Stop. So, I don't want alcohol to be illegal for numerous reasons (I like to drink, people would lose their jobs and the government can not enforce things like this, ever.), but there are even more reasons why weed should be made legal, such as the health.reasons. I want to see a court case come.up where some lawyer that really knows his shit and is on our side sticks it to the Gman.
I was sickened when I got the email from the White House (since I signed the petition). I loved how they claimed that science was on THEIR side. Yeah right! Most modern scientists agree that there is no reason Cannabis should be Schedule I, especially since THC is Schedule III (weird...). I have my doubts that any sort of FEDERAL legalization will ever occur. I was just floored by the stupidity of the letter the government sent. It acted as though WE were miserable drug addicts that needed help. Well, for one, I don't even smoke Cannabis, but I still signed that petition, so explain that!
When I get to my desktop PC I'll copy and paste it. Right now I am on my iPad. But trust me, you want to read it. It is priceless cowardice and "proof by intimidation." Full of expected traps and pitfalls.
