So last night I had a dream that was probably the most disturbing one I've ever had. It started out and I was at home with my roommates. One odd thing already was that I have never seen the house we were in before but it felt familiar in the dream. We went outside and were throwing a ball around but I was having a hard time with it, like my muscles weren't responding completely. All of a sudden something felt really different. I looked down and saw that my skin was a bit "loose" and seemed more pale in certain parts, like when you have a blister. I pulled at one of these and the skin came off, just like if you were peeling skin from a sunburn off except much much more of it, over my whole body I was peeling the skin off in handfulls. I started to get pretty freaked out so I went to take a shower, thinking that might help. I went into the bathroom and was looking in the mirror. I ran a hand through my hair and it brushed against one of my ears and I noticed it didn't feel right. I felt along the top of my ear and instead of just the one "arch" of the top of my ear there were two, as if something were growing on my ear. I pulled on it and it came off, feeling much like it does when you peel skin off. I looked at it and it looked like a second ear that was growing on my first one, lobe and all. After seeing that I quickly reached to my other ear and found it was the same and I pulled the growth on that one off as well. It was around this time that I started hearing people talking outside. I heard my roommates and, strangely enough, my boss. I turned my head and felt the top of my scalp "slip". I reached up and pulled on my hair and it came off, like a wig, however, there was still hair underneath. So I had effectively replicated my hair. I dropped it in the sink, my hands were shaking. I looked back at the mirror and noticed my vision was blurry. It took my a few moments to figure out why but when I did I just thought to myself "fuck it" and I reached my hand up and pulled something out of my eye socket. It was a squished second eye, in front of mine. I was going to do the same to the other eye when I noticed the door (which I had locked) was cracked and my boss was peering in. He looked at me and said "Remember, it can't get dark in here." (The lights were already on) Then I woke up. When I first woke up I thought it was a pretty awesome dream in a bizarre way but now I just get creeped out thinking about it. It makes me think of a snake shedding its skin and I can hardly stand thinking about what would have happened next had I not woken up.
You almost answered it yourself. A snake shedding skin is symbolic of change/growth/rebirth. The dream seems to be about transformation, change, metamorphosis. Perhaps something at your work which is why (maybe) that your boss was in your dream. I think that would depend on the sort of relationship you have with your boss tho. In general tho, i would say change and transformation, rebirth of some sort. peace
