Guitar tone knob is STUCK

    I really need help, the tone knob off of my recently purchased vintage guitar is stuck, ive taken the screw out and it still wont come off! Im thinking the bastard is glued or somthing so does anyone have any ideas to get it off?

    Was it stuck before you purchased it and you not realize it tell now?

    place 2 butter knives under it and pry evenly..

    Yes i knew it was stuck before i bought it but it was a rare 1982 model so i had to get it, and i have put two knifes under it and tried to pry it off... i dont know what could be wrong, the other two came off fine

    you shouldnt damage the pot if you use force.. your going to replace the knob anyways ? right...

    I had a guitar brand new and 3 days later I broke the bottom knob off. I brought it down on the edge of something. I glued a funky knob on it. give the guitar character.. :D

    You CAN damage the pot if you use to much force...... What kind of guitar is it? Fender, Gibson, Import ??? Also, why are you taking the knob off? (35 years of guitar building and repair experience, here, I certainly don't know everything but I've been around)
