So I kind of have a weird situation. I've been a everyday smoker for about two years and had smoked weed on ocasions even before that and I've noticed that for a while, gradually, my highs have become unpleasant. I'll instantly start getting trapped in my head and thoughts. I usually become pretty quiet and it usually makes me feel like everything I say or do while high is awkward. After I come down, I still feel like the same way. I honestly do feel like it is having a negative effect on my personality, and is making me less and less outgoing. It almost makes me feel depressed. As long as I don't smoke, I never feel any of those effects at all and am a completely different person.

Which brings me to the question...WHY? Is weed ruined for me? It doesn't seem like weed makes anybody I know feel this way, and weed used to be extremely enjoyable and fun. It makes me feel a completely different way than it used to. I'm thinking it's about time I take a break. I'm just hoping that I can come back to it and have fun again, as long as I keep my usage more under control.
I would very much appreciate any answers-advice.

this my friend is my exact story with pot, to the tee. except i was a heavy smoker for a good 6 yrs. been off the shit for 18 months now and am still affected with social withdrawral, anxiety, akward social interactions. lost many friends due to hermitism...

i would say something about our genes perhaps, or underlying anxiety disorders brought out by the constant neurochemical changes in a regular smokers existence.. i have known several other friends to also suffer this ailment. all with identical (though varying significance) symptoms.

recently i have read that of the two genuses of cannibis IE; sativa and indica, that one tends to cause more couch-lock and laziness, and the other more anxiety. i cannot remember which it is however a quick google search on your behalf should clarify.
by the way all modern strains are apparently a mix of these two genus, all of varying ratio. perhaps this may contribute to the identification of the cause of this phenomenon.:2thumbsup:

sativa is more likely to cause anxiety, indica will mellow you out more, but if you're an anxious person you can still experience anxiety from it.

take a break from daily smoking and make it a once in a while type thing, you'll appreciate it more.
