    Hello,
I have never posted but thought it was time I did since I need advice! So I recently met someone online but it didn't work out, but she was the first girl I ever approached for a relationship. So I am wondering, how do you find a girl? I would prefer to meet someone in person, not online, but how do you know if someone is lesbian, how do you initiate a relationship with someone?

I recently found out that I am attracted to girls so I want to actually find someone to explore this further. BTW im in college if that will help at all with how to meet someone.
    Thanks!

Does your college have a LGBTQ club?? You can meet people there pretty easily. Or if you want to be daring you could always try a gay club or a club that has a gay night. But you'll prolly only find like drunk girls who only want to hook up. But yeah attend events around you and you'll meet people :)

OK Thanks guys. I might just have to venture out a bit! I was kind of hesitant to go to a LGBTQ club meeting because no one (other than one person) knows this about me.

    Well, think about it coolcat.

If you go and there's nobody there that you know ... then you'll be in the same position you are now. Only one of your exisating circle of acquaintances will know.

On the other hand, if there IS somebody there that you know, well, you'll have discovered that you have something in common with them that you never knew about before (and they probably didn't either). And they're hardly likely to go telling everyone "Hey - guess who I met at the Lesbian & Gay club", are they? After all, if you're not already aware that they're gay, then chances are they're as reticent about letting the whole world know as you currently are!

They may talk about current news and things happening in the gay community. Or just hang out, get to know one another and just have fun. They are all different. But are also the same in the way of being open about letting people talk about any problems they may be facing with coming out or things like that. It's just all very laid back and comfortable. At least that's how the few I've been to have been.

Well here is an update. I chickened out last week and didn't go to the meeting, but I did go to yesterday's meeting. I'm glad I went, I feel a sense of relief kind of. Anyways, it was very casual, basically people mentioned things they wanted to discuss then we went through the list of topics. I didn't talk much because I just kind of wanted to get the feel of things, but I will definitely go to future meetings.

Do you have to set up an appointment or something? I live in Los Angeles and there's one on Hollywood.

This is my first time going to a meeting.

How is it like? How are the people like?

I just went to the one at my school. Didn't make an appointment, it was just whoever came came. I found it to be really nice! I've been to three meetings now. The people at the meeting that I went to were really nice and accepting.
