My body is being all messed up i cant keep food down. all yest and today. Is this normal? I go in tomorrow afternoon for a check on my cervix, effacement. Of corse ill tell them i cant eat, even the simple things like toast or crackers. I went to the bathroom more times than i can count in the last 2 days, ive heard this is normal with labor, cleaning your system out. But not being able to eat makes me worry. I couldnt even keep down freeze pops. Im so thirsty but i cant drink alot cause that will come up to. What to do? Anyone had this happen to them or know anything about this?
Ill have contractions for hrs than when it gets really intense it stops for a while, than starts up again soon after. Its crazy its been this way for days. They even wake me up. Right when they become regular and we think we should go than they stop, come back. Im trying to keep myself occupied, but im really frustrated.
This is not labour. They're just very intense braxton hicks. BH contractions can get pretty strong with subsequent babies, not like the first when they are hardly noticable. True labour does not stop when you change activity or lay down. How's that UTI feeling? Better? Try to drink some clear (no red or purple!) Gatorade or Recharge, that usually stays down when nothing else does. Are you seeing a midwife or OB? Sometimes a vitamin B12 shot will help with the vomiting. How many weeks are you again? When the contractions get strong, drink LOTS of water and go lay down. They should stop. If you're not oppsed to it, drink a glass of wine or 1/2 a Guiness stout (I prefer Guiness because it's loaded with B complex vitamins) and go lay down. If you don't want to drink alcohol, take 4 chamomile tea bags and make a strong cup of tea with honey and go lay down. BUT! Don't be discouraged (and don't wear yourself out!) even though they come and go, they are still working at getting your body prepped for labour. Dehydration makes these annoying contractions worse, so try to get some fluids in, take small sips every 10 minutes or so.
I was that way for about three weeks. Try the old labor starting standby if your partner is willing to help you try and get this baby moving. And relax, the baby won't stay in there forever, try and stay busy but also stay close to home.
