New fingerprint technology can detect traces of other substances

The most important part is how it is used.

Only time will tell how dangerous this is for non-suspects; and it seems like it could be really great for helping build evidence against a perpetrator.

 

units like that have been in operation thru the state prison system here in pa for a long time.. you can not enter visiting should you have traces of drugs on you.. Contact visits are permitted in the SCI system.

 

I hope they can't detect where I was sticking my finger before I knocked over that liqour store. That would be embarrassing

 

That kind of technology doesn't sound very harmful to me. Sounds more helpful. It would aid the police in tracking down criminals faster as they would get additional clues from fingerprints. Very useful in my point of view.

 

I would be all for it if we didn't have a war on drugs.

But we have a dishonest corrupt war on drugs, and so I think this is just another dishonest corrupt scheme.

You can't build something wholesome in support of the kids, upon dishonest corruption.

what a load of moronic crap. surely, only rapists touch condoms. and if there were no condom traces on his fingers at all, surely, he couldn't have been the rapist. how the hell do people pull off opening their mouths and letting this kind of shit out?

we are entering the age where a condom trace on your fingers will make you a suspect of a rape. sounds promising for everyone.
