Well they're back in the park, and people are flooding down into the city after texts went out to everyone remotely connected to the occupation to get their ass down there. Tonight should be interesting.
maybe I shouldn't be surprised. the government and the corporations routinely trample on the rights we are supposed to have. how the fuck can they get away with arresting reporters?
So let me get this strait, the delay was for a new judge to take the bench? So we live in one of THOSE countries. Judge says no, you guys can't do this, cops say LOL WATCH US and break the law until such a time as their crony takes the bench and supports their violent oppressive cause.
I hope people don't give up their protest. I have good thoughts for you guys. The cities act was cowardly not to mention dangerous by invading their space in the dead of night. I hope that no one was injured. They should be allowed to stay.
Here's what the news says about it: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york...r-aclu-veteran-article-1.977725#ixzz1dpy2XbRF
This isn't how the courts work. A judge with obviously sympathetic views was woken up to sign a temporary restraining order. It was only ever met to be temporary. It then goes to superior court where a judge is picked at a random to make sure neither side can bitch about it. And truth be told we got one of the better judges even if he wound up ruling against us eventually, this same judge had ruled against the city's effort to crack down on critical mass rides, as well as gatherings by supporting groups http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/16/nyregion/16critical.html

60 arrested at foot of Brooklyn Bridge. The protesters are now walking onto the bridge. Nobody seems to know just how many people there are in this protest, taking place all over NYC. Some are saying Tens of Thousands! Just saw a group of doctors with a sign that says "Single Payer Health Care for All, People Before Profits" And the opposition says it's just hippies protesting... What a crock!
Bloomberg and the media are playing that number down, but there's no way they can possibly know. Occupy!
