This is disgusting. Is it really this bad in America? I mean, Canada is not exactly on the right track either, but why has every American who uses the internet not risen up and stormed government buildings in protest by this point. At least it has not passed yet right. Talking about it does not necessarily mean that it will happen, not that there is a great track record for free speech and civil rights going on.

On a related note, this is just another step to making sure no one can blink without having to pay for it.

The 1% only want to know from us when we give them our money.

When we don't, they go all medieval on us with storm troopers and spies and repressive laws.

According to DemandProgress, more than 700,000 people contacted congress about opposing this.

That means it will probably pass, since Congress is in the habit of ignoring the wishes of the American public for personal financial gain...

Time to wake up. We're actually further down the track than the US and some of the C-11/35 stuff puts us on par with Korea.

This illusion that Canada is more progressive than the US is dangerous. It allows the erosion of our freedoms to happen quietly and without fuss as we look and point fingers to the south.

Yes. Lets rage about all the evils of the US...but let our own government use us as a doormat. Distraction tactics, anyone?

That whatever draconian measures the US dreams up, become laws in Canada soon after?

It's a combination of Harper being a former Bush butt-buddy/US wannabe and our citizens being world-renowned for apathy and lack of spine.

I think it's gonna take a bullet, Skip.

    Winning!

Just experienced an interesting version of censorship, myself. But private owned gives the right...I get that. I just don't have to like it.
And if ya gotta do what ya gotta do, then that's ok. I'm getting over it now.

Congress doesn't care what 700,000 people want... they will follow the money trail as always.
