After about a month of trying to lucid dream. I have remembered loads of dreams night to night. And as of last night I finally broke lucid! I use the hand trick where I drew a circle on my inside palm. In my dream I noticed things were off so in the dream world I took a look at my hand and instead of having just the one circle, my hand was covered with circles of different sizes in the same colored ink with a trippy affect. I then had this weird body affect as if I were changing to the conscious mind and all of the sudden I could control and be aware of everything. The dream was much more clearer than usual meaning there were no skips in memory, and the picture was larger and easier to see. For those of you out there trying to lucid dream, I want to let you know it is possible, before I tried I never remembered my dreams, I also suffered from insomnia and had many sleepless nights. But I would like to know from experience, once you have broke lucidity once, is it easier to achieve again? I would like to lucid dream again with a new story, and in the future shape my world the way I want it.
Im trying to lucid dream still, i do reality checks often but when i wake up i'm so unmotivated to write down my dreams every single morning
Yes a dream journal is very important. If your dreams suck in the beginning don't worry. I remember at first thinking, oh there's not much point in remembering this, it's boring. But I wrote it down anyways, and then I would start to have more dreams, longer dreams, and better dreams! Please write them down, it helps yourself, and there was a point where I could start to remember dreams I had years ago! It was fascinating. You open a new memory bank, it all exists, but the point of this journal is to be able to access that bank The journal also helps show improvements, I'd suggest keeping it on an electronic device, because I constantly go back and add to older dreams because I remember them better. Also it is strange, because your memory's will be very vivid. I don't wish to share my dreams as they are personal, but they are fairly long and strange. They seem to express some of my desires, but at other points they just seem random. I find them fun anyways and it has helped my sleep schedule. So keep trying and you will se results. What is great about this process though is you will see improvements the whole time, even when your not breaking lucid. So dream on!
Yeah i wrote my dreams down for around two weeks was improving but they were very pointless and i hit a wall in remembering 1 dream a night or two max, i've tried it a few times in my life but i always give up after a week or two
It's kind of like a stair step, you'll stay at the same level, then peak up to a new advancement. You will have a wild advancement in just one night. Like I was doing the same thing for about a week and a half before I lucid dream, there was no indication I was getting closer, it just happened... It's worth trying though, you get a third of your life back
Sounds stupid, but just tell yourself before you go to sleep that you 1. Want to simply remember your dream or 2. Dream about xI've noticed that weed seems to make dreams fazy so if you smoke, try to cut yourself off a bit. Smoking once a week is what I do, and so it doesn't mess up my dreams that much. There are also things like green tea, bananas and other foods that help you dream better. I drink tea naturally, so that may have helped me, but idk..
Ahh, well how often do you have green tea throughout the day? i have it once or twice a week and i actaully have vivid dreams when i smoke but that might just be me
Hard to say, I have about three cups of tea a day. I always change the teas, so the green tea may only come in once a week to like 10 times a week... Tea may just help in general? But I heard specifically grean tea. And I never read anything about pot affecting your dreams, it just happened to me, so if your fine now you should be fine later. I've never read any evidence of pot affecting your dreams, though I've never looked
Yeah i heard about green tea aiding in dreams, i also heard fish oil and cheese does too, but i don't know from experience
Haha yeah. If it means anything tough, I've never tried any of that, so I don't think it's needed. But it probably helps, I'd just try drinking tea, it's healthy and may help your dreams I gave up a heavy caffeine addiction from coffee, and now just drink tea and it's been way better.
Haha. Good luck to you man!And most importantly have fun with it, some of the best parts of my last month have been sleeping! Peace
Just so I answer your question correctly, what exactly do you mean by lighter? Like closer to waking up? Or weaker?
electronic device like what? I would use my computer but I feel like thats to much of a hassle to turn on right when I wake up. I'm actually at the point right now where I wake up around 3 times in the early morning and can write down 3 dreams or so, this morning I actually had a slightly lucid dream but it was momentary. I was dreaming then I realized it though I didn't like where I was in the dream so I decided I wanted to wake myself, then I did but it was a false awakening so a dream within a dream. it was crazy though because I actually woke up in my own bed in the dream and had the feeling of slight sleep paralysis. then I got up and was really late for work then I actually woke up lol.
haha. I am lucky enough to have an ipad, it is perfect, it functions as my alarm and notepad for dreams. It's the first thing I have to do. Lucid dreaming is very strange, dream control is possible without reaching lucidity IMO. I have had many dreams that I have felt were under my control, but this event I claim as my first lucid dream was VERY different. It was just as real as life is how I perceive it now, while i type. It was very vivid, no skips and I was conscious of the fact I was in my imagination, I knew that everyone was a dream character that couldn't tell me anything I didn't already know. I have unfortunately not have had a lucid dream since this, (like a week?) but my dreams are still very vivid. I've heard that one person could achieve up to 20 lucid dreams a month, so it isn't something you learn and can do nightly, which only makes them more special. My advice, keep going! It is a very psychological endeavor, and belief has results!
