i learned meditation from online formus : http://www.project-meditation.org/community/ and from few books: Meditation for everyone Im thinking of singing up for meditation classes in the future
may I ask what you would seek from a class, rainforest? what do you want from a group session? I'm not sure I could answer my own question well!
Hey guys, this is my first post. So here I go throwing my oar in. I have never paid for meditation. I was lucky enough to get a c.d. from the author and my friend Stephen Richards who writes about cosmic ordering. His c.d. uses hypnosis as a way to find stillness of the mind. That was nearly 5 years ago now. Today I meditate twice daily, morning and night. I have shown over 2 dozen individuals how I do it, people I know personally and family. Some TM guys tried to argue with me that what I practice isn't meditation but I can't figure out how the hell they know what kind of experiences I have. Others are delighted I have achieved what I have in 5 years. All TM teachers are not created equal, that's for sure. Before I took up meditation, my life was in a mess. My wife and kids lived in Seattle, while I was alone and jobless at home in Belfast, 7,500 miles away. Torture. I had no chance of even getting a return economy ticket. A friend introduced me to Stephen's works and things have got better from there. Frankly I don't care what anyone wants to call it because I'm back with my family, found self employment that pays many times better than any job I had before. Its no coincidence this happened. Have faith in what you do. Isn't this what we all strive to achieve with meditation? A better existence? Happiness and peace of mind with greater understanding of everything around you? If someone had demonstrated to me 5 years ago that wearing a dog turd on my head would get me these results I would have done it. Truth is, if you seek you shall find. Pay someone or don't. Only you can determine if you practice something that takes you to a place of pure consciousness. A place where every single possibility exists. Just my 2 cents, everybody is different. Find what works for you.
Meditation is definitely one of the main principles of yoga, as it is a good tool to use for achieving mental clarity and health. I regularly do yoga, including meditation also. I am happy and satisfied with what I do. Thanks.
When you do meditation (with someone else) you already get enough in return so why money? If some people will give sth more in return why not?
