I don't really know how to start, and I feel like a mental case, but I guess I'll just jump right in. . .

My dreams are being consistant in theme lately. It always starts off with me gagged and tied to a chair, in near complete darkness, where I can only see myself and the chair opposite me. It's normally occupied by my dad (who passed while I was younger) and he's talking to me. He's sitting in a chair, and while I feel like he's not the one who tied me, he definately wanted me tied. Everytime I fight against my bonds, he'll hit me with the cane he has. I feel like there's something bad coming towards us, and all I want to do is warn my dad and tell him to leave, but like mentioned above, I'm gagged. This whole time, he's going over how everyone I ever loved has left me behind/hated me. He focuses mainly on the last person I've ever let myself trust, who I later found out actually was disgusted by me.

I'm trying to not listen, but he isn't quiet until this thing (it never seems to be the same. Sometimes male, sometimes female, sometimes just a figure. It seems to twist to my preferences for the time being) attacks him. The first time my dad got scared by it holding a knife, the second a gun, the third time claws. . . Everytime my dad leaves, he says "Look here now, son. Someone else to fool you and then abandon you." then disappears into the darkness.

After a long silence, my binds and gag are loosened and I work myself free, while asking to near complete darkness "is he safe?" and the reply is usually a thought or feeling more than a actual answer. Then the figure takes the chair and just stares at me. It always makes me feel self-conscious, and I have to resist making myself look nice. After a while, the figure continues telling me what my dad told me, but more than it being mockery, it's pity and sympathy. When I look into the figure's eyes, I see nothing but compassion. I feel like crying whenever I see it's eyes, but at the same time I want so badly to just cuddle with it forever.

It scares me too, though. It's only ever touched me through a piece of clothing, never skin-on-skin. I tried once, but it knocked my hand away, saying "not until you agree." Which brings me to my next point:

The figure says if I stay with it forever, in an eternal sleep, it'll take away any pain, and it promises to never hurt me and give me anything I want. It's given me gifts in my dreams, and it's only a matter of time before I somehow come into possession of the same thing or something similar.

In the real world, I've begun to see/hear things. After this first started happening, the figure asked how I liked it's friends. I told it they scared me, and it said all I have to do is make the agreement. I always refuse, though. The sights and sounds have gotten to the point where I've quit my job. One day, i attacked my friend's dog after having just woke up, thinking it was one of the shadow things. Everyone thinks I'm unstable, and I'm terrified that this dream figure might get me to give in, and sleep eternally.

Variations: Sometimes my dad is already gone, and the figure is already in the opposite chair. I'm always bound and gagged at first, though.

The figure only talks sometimes, never actually appears, and tells me to not be weak near my dad.

Sometimes I'm blindfolded. Occasionally the figure removes it, occasionally it's left on.

Would it be so bad to give in, if I'm getting everything I've ever wanted and more?

    Sounds like a demon :/
Or your subconscious could just be creating it all, your mind does have the power to affect events in your life and what you believe, happens.

Usually dreams are your subconscious mind trying to tell you something, I would suggest writing down your dream then separating the different parts of it, then find symbolism in those parts. it can be anything not related to the dream at all, just what something means to you when you read it. Then after that pick out the things that stand out most to you and put them together, see if you get anything.

Bad dreams can be the most important kind, its when our mind is practically screaming at us trying to tell us something or help us.

'Would it be so bad to give in, if I'm getting everything I've ever wanted and more?' when you ask this and in the case it is a demon or whatever, realize you will not be given happiness that is only something you can derive from deep within. Demons are petty being on the lower astral realms that can only scare us and only hold as much power over us as we let them.

A demon huh? Sounds lovely. =/ Something definitely seems off with it, though. Not ruling anything out. For some reason I think if I can warn my dad or get him to leave before the figure scares him off I'll be safe for the rest of the night. . .

See a shrink. Talk it out. Maybe test-drive some meds. Hopefully, you'll find a formula for inner peace.

Good luck. Try to stay balanced.

I also wasn't saying for sure it was a demon, I'm actually doubting it is but always a possibility.

Medication isn't the way to go, I agree M3!
I don't know if it's a good idea to give in. When offered a deal like that, it's probably going to end up empty. Sounds like it could be some malevolent entity that is meaning to do you harm. My first thought about your story was that this is an aspect of yourself that you aren't letting out, that is tied down to a chair. The angel versus the devil so to speak. I've had dreams with shape shifting entities too but they weren't as consistent as you're making your dreams sound like. How often do you dream of this? Have you tried willing a different scenario?

    Hi Oogey

What is going on in your daily life? Are you under more pressure than normal or are you dabbling in the occult perhaps?

If the latter, please stop. It isnt a toy to be played with. If the former, change things in your life - be it adding relaxation or meditation or unwinding before you sleep.

    Cheers

    Rosemary

@rosieb No occult action and life was really mundane lately, up until the dreams started happening.

@M3z! I know it might not for sure be a demon, but like I've said. Definately not ruling anything out.

@ShamanistiK The dreams are almost nightly (if I actually sleep), though with some variations on them. And in my dreams, I'm able to think about what I'm doing as clearly as I am awake. I've tried visualizing myself somewhere else, but usually I open my eyes staring back into the darkness, or my father leering/the figure laughing at my attempts. . .

Talk to a therapist before summing it up to demons and or trying meds to make you not dream.

i have a couple questions to ask you

When you are awake and doing your daily life do you sometimes feel like you are still dreaming?

Do you do a lot of psychedelics?

If you said yes to both questions then you prob should ether deal with it and try to control the dream. Or knock down your psychedelic usage. For main stream therapist they will tell you that you suffer from Psychosis and that it is a horrible horrible thing. I personally suffer from psychosis but it doesn't bother me. I tend to think outside the box and a little different then most. When it came known to my therapist (use to have one because i got caught tripping on LSD in high school) they tried to put me on prescription medicine. It helped with the dream/reality mixing up but it also took away who i was as a person. I strongly suggest perhaps doing some meditation while awake and connect with your subconscious. It could be something that the universe is speaking to you through your dreams.

I've only partaked in psychedelics after work, with my coworker, and it was completely natural. No more of that stuff now. And as for my daily life, sometimes I feel like it's still just my dream, other times I'm well aware of reality. I'm looking for a therapist to see, though I'm not sure when it'll actually happen.

Thank you all for your suggestions and ideas. I've taken apart and evaluated my dream bit by bit, and I'll start with meditation. It's helped some, though the dreams haven't stopped.

i have had some odd, spooky dreams. i have found that writing them into stories helps a lot. there is no telling, it might lead to some publication if you work at it a bit.

i would agree that medication is a last resort. it never does exactly what you think it will, although, if nothing else helps, or this gets worse, perhaps that is an avenue.

you might doodle around the net, looking at things like kundalini awakening, dream interpretation, exorcism....maybe that will jog something into a solution. in my case, i simply took my dreams head on, and tried to make them work for me. it sounds rough, but i found it liberating.

Yea well any kind of psychedelic no matter if natural or not will effect your daily life. For the main stream society they will tell you that you will suffer from psychosis and other mental illness. For people like me i see that you are pretty much entering the void between the "real" world and the astral world. If you want message me and i can discuss things in further detail with you if you are interested. I have been dealing with this "problem" for many years now and the past couple years (I would say three years or so) i have been thinking about it differently and come to some strong realizations

It is a clear message that you have to develop your will my friend. If you can think as clearly as in waking life, then will yourself into a different situation. Focus on it, don't think about the entity in any way. Any 'negative' entity feeds on fear of any kind- worry, doubt, anger, sorrow, etc...

You might need to pursue a new direction in your life, to passion. Do what you are passionate about, there is no garantee that there will be a tomorrow, for anyone...

Meditation is a good idea for sure...I would be suspicious of the company that I am in while doing psychedelics, your co-worker might be bad news. Wait until you find a proper guide or at least an experienced person that can guide you through your next trip. Until then, I would lay off...

Yea i can agree with that totally. Perhaps even do them alone in your room. I know sometimes i enjoy tripping alone because i feel like it gives me the best kind of inner personal trip.
