Does anybody know if there are any safe natural ways to induce labor at home? My doctor is inducing me next wednesday if the baby is not born by then, so just wondering if there are any ways that are known to work.

sex, low impact exercise like walking. I don't have kids but I've heard from various women that these two activities can help sometimes. Walking makes you sway your hips which helps guide the little one lower towards your birth canal, and appearantly sperm has some kind of hormone in it that helps dilate the cervix. get you some, girl.

I've also heard evening primrose oil is a safe herb to take that helps induce. It contains something that is similiar to the hormone in sperm that dilates the cervix.

also being induced with pitocin sucks, if there is any way you can avoid it, do it! (unless it is medically necessary of course)

Look up Blue Cohosh. Or Black Cohosh. Do research about herbs first, to make sure you don't have any health concerns that the herbs might make worse.

    Red Raspberry Leaf tea.

I'm assuming you are in good health? You really shouldn't try messing with herbs if you have any pregnancy-related conditions.

Also, how far along are you? Why does your doctor want to induce?

THIS. But take it as caulophyllum in a homoeopathic preparation. I've prescribed it too lots of mums to be wih great success.

The herbal prep is too "base" for wnat of a better word

The thread is seven months old. I would bet my life savings and then some that this issue has been resolved.

LOL...I didn't look at the date of the OP. Since the most recent post was today, I assumed it was a new thread. Oh, well. Maybe someone will benefit from it in the future (except for the last ignorant post right above this one, that is.)
