Lack of movement by this movement.

Hopefully there are others who will take a stronger leading role in the movement and organize it better. The people I talked to think creating a flash mob through the _____ is adequate to get the right people for the movement. The “right people” never watch TV or consume anything. People who shop at Wal Mart even if they have to be able to afford things for their children, are ignorant sheep occording to these guys. They were as far removed from reality as any politican.

These guys personified the Liberal elitists, the right wing media portrays all dissenters as. Not an image you want to retain if you want to gather support.

Further these organizers were content with the Philly, and LA Raids outcome, and had total blinders on to the fact that the media at large is painting the movement as dead due to these raids. If the all the OWS organizers just sit back and allow the larger camps to be shoved away, the movement will die. Nobody will take a few diehards off the beaten path seriously.

One of the two guys kept insisting that the general US public has to be convinced to never watch TV.I told them, that getting every American to not watch any TV is like trying to reinstate Prohibition. I do not think the guy knew what Prohibition was. I think this movement has run out of gas, sadly.

 

Mainstream media has been painting the wrong picture of the movement all along.... On purpose, obviously, and it's working. The typical "man on the street" that should get behind this and would see major benefit in their lives if changes were made along the lines of what Occupy is all about still think it's all a bunch of "whiny students that want their collage debt removed and don't want to work"

That's all coming from TV news...... Not sure how to get around that. It's a stacked deck.

festive lights on a tent be so cheery ? oh , camp in peace with

the encampment IS the symbol , as humble as a manger scene .

I dont really see a lack of movement just because some of the camps got raided and closed. The whole occupy protest was to point attention to the corrupt corporate system and wake people up to the problems in our country and the world. They have accomplished that beyond any ones wildest dreams. Now theres a little down time to regroup and plan the next stages of the plan, protest now become more focused. We have to come up with some concrete demands and move to make them happen. Its the beginning of the winter of our discontent and not everyone in this movement lacks focus and I for one have plenty of gas to keep this going and I know Im not alone.

 

OWS is still in it's infancy and is possibly one of the first major stands We the people have taken since the 60's against the System with any hope of impact. The 60's were just that, 10 long years friend.

Not a bad starting point with Anonymous off to the side, will be interesting to see how "they" fit in.

Part of me expects to see some rioting in major city's soon.

 

They need to stay in that news with large turnout numbers. But the organzizers appear content to allow TV media to call the movement dead. They could use the media against the pwoers that be by remaining on camera. Instead they talk of all the people watching TV with disdain as being sheep. They basically choking themselves to death. They turn their nose up at the people they are claiming to stand up for.

As another example of this thing going under. Over the 2 and half hours or so I was talking to these guys on ______. There was a pretty steady stream of people comming on to ask where the people that were run out in NYC had gone. Nobody had answer, not even a word of encourgement or thanks for looking to get involved. Not good.

 

OP sounds rather similar to the type of people OP is warning against.
