post up your favorite movie that shows how humans have impacted nature. my favorites are princess mononoke and nausicaa of the valley of wind.
well, i was gonna say watership down but that was just the first one that came to mind, i'm not really a big fan. i'd probably have to say "when the wind blows" by raymond briggs, its about a british couple in the cold war after a nuclear strike. they place all their trust in the (ridiculously innefective and often self contradictory) advice of the government, believing that "the powers that be will get to us in the end" its completely and utterly heartbreaking. kind of a good mix of photography and simple animation, too.
When I saw the post those 2 popped into my head. You stole them from me Well anyways. I dont know if this would work but.. "Pink Floyd The Wall" The film of course*
It's a film now? I re-read the book a couple weeks ago, reliving one of my favorites from childhood. All of Briggs' books are great.
yup, its a full length film, but it may have been made for TV. i really like the look of it, cartoon people with (very) occasional photographs mixed in, even some stop motion at the end. really does the book justice. i hear they're planning to start filming an adaptation of ethel & ernest sometime this year too, looking forward to that, really touching book.
My two favorites are The Man and Fungus the Bogeyman. Briggs children's books are heavy stuff, I think reading them as a child encouraged all my existential dilemmas in life :bigcry:
